i booked rev nick... you just call him up , set an appt with him to meet him.. then when you give the final check before the wedding you pay for the chapel , and the officiant at that time.. you pay fox hollow, not rev nick.. and he was awesome!!!
i think the officiant was like 350.

i did call. they said they 'don't do auditions', so i said, ok - then we'll just book. the wife took our info & said they'd be in touch. 3 weeks later i got an email from them asking us if we would call them since they hadn't heard from us & if we were still interested because someone else wanted to book that date. i was furious & scared to say the least. i replied with a 'we already spoke on the phone, you said we were booked!!!'. i finally got a reply a few days later apologizing and saying they got days mixed up & i haven't heard from them since early november.
should i just call fox hollow? i never went through them, i just called rev nick direct. maybe i should have called fox hollow & had them arrange this cuz at this point, i wonder.
deanna, how was your ceremony? i'm sure it was beautiful, no matter what! but was rev nick hard to get in touch with? they never even gave us a chance to meet him (i only spoke to the mrs. on the phone & she refused to give us a 'meeting' appt).

ok that is definetly weird... what i do know is that fox hollow has nothing to do with booking your vendor.. that is all on you and FH..
what we did as far as rev nick was,, called him (him and his wife are always around after 8pm)
then said we wanted to come meet with him, they did give us a date.. i dont know why they are giving you a hard time.. how can you just book an officiant without even meeting with him!!! i know his wife was very sweet over the phone and she actually takes care of the appts and such... so see if she can just make a time and date to meet with him.
the meeting was very important,, you go over what you wanted at the ceremony ( readings, unity candle, ) and more...
sorry you are having a hard time,, its very odd...
but like i said just try calling them again after 8pm.
our ceremony was beautiful,, they did a great job setting up!! they put a gazebo all decorated!! and then the flowers down the aisle were very pretty!! i was so happy i got married there!!
let me know how it goes!

aw, thanks deanna. i just thought maybe that was the way they did things. i met with 2 other officiants & was disappointed. so when we thought to call rev nick, and the mrs. gave us that bit about 'we don't need to meet' we just thought that it was ok.
she asked me if we wanted a religious or civil & when i told her we aren't religious people, that's when she said they would conduct a standard civil ceremony & that we didn't need to meet to discuss something so standard. she did make me feel weird over the phone, like i was bothering her (it was after 8pm) but we liked the price & the fact that he's been there before & well, we just said ok.
i'm going to call them after the new year is over & talk to them some more & i'll let you know what happens.
i can't wait to see more of your pics! you look amazing in the ones you have posted!!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
We're back from our meeting with Ron at Fox Hollow. I asked all the questions I had, based on a lot of the info I found here, so thanks!! The candleholders I'm thinking about for my DIY CPs were ok'd. I just have to figure out if that's exactly what I want, or not. We were able to walk around the rooms and the grounds and take all the pictures I wanted! We had sooo much fun!!!A quick question: just to clarify, is Rev Nick the same Nick Montanino who's listed in the PWP pamphlet they give you at Fox Hollow? We need to book a reformed rabbi but would definitely prefer to meet and discuss things first because of some complicated religious/family issues. Any advice or recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Dewdrop, I would definitely insist on a meeting (in a nice way). I would NEVER allow someone to marry me without meeting with him/her. It's such an important part of the day, to me -- what if you just don't like him? I think it's pretty rude that they said 'they don't do auditions.' I mean, you are giving them $350 - without knowing anything about him??? I considered calling him but honestly, I'm seriously considering NOT calling him now. That's very strange. Hope it works out for you!!!
