His sugar flowers are sooooooooo amazing! But Im using real flowers to save money. Im sure he charges more for sugar flowers.

OKAY - that makes sense. He's not on Ace Of Cakes - that's Duff from Charm City Bakery....he's doing the Food Network Challenges! I've seen him on there before & even the guy from the Hoboken bakery that i'm spazzing on the name of right now...

Honestly, I don't. Sorry! I had my meeting last night with Lindsey. I was a little disappointed Jenn wasn't there, but Lindsey was helpful. I did not like any of the cakes in the book. I had something more specific in mind. Also, I was told we would get NO credit for going with an outside vendor. I am VERY upset about this. My dad was like, 'well tell them to make the cake then and we'll donate it to charity or something.' He's right too. If we're paying for it in our per person charge, we're not using it and you refuse to give me a credit, then I want it anyway. They shouldn't be allowed to do that. If we're not using it, there should be some sort of compensation. Anyone else having this problem???

Did you ask if you could get an upgraded item (maybe something like a chocolate fountain) instead of the cake? I know places dont like to give back money, but maybe they will replace it with something? Just my opinion.

I had a similar confusion/problem. I was told that we get a credit for using an outside vendor and a discount for using cakes By jay. After weeks of confusion and unreturned phone calls from Jenn, we had our meeting with lindsey and after a few discussions with her I found out how it works:
If you use an outside vendor other than Jay, they will give you some money towards the cake- by applying it elsewhere- ie. towards an add on or taking it off the final bill. But if you are using jay, you tell him you are a fox hollow bride and the price he gives you is with the discount, and then he directly bills them the difference.
At least I think this is how it works. No one at Fox hollow really seems to know...
They need to fix that!
