Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Ladies, in regards to the cakes, I am booked with Cakes By Jay and he has been awesome to work with!!! And Im in love with his buttercream!!! Before I booked with him I had been speaking with a woman named Judy who does wedding cakes. I think if you google 'Silk Cakes' you will find her. She came highly recommended to me. She is the pastry chef at French Culinary institute. Her prices were VERY reasonable! We decided to use Jay based on the Fox Hollow discount and that he has worked there before. We never met with Judy in person so I can't comment on the taste of the cakes. But we had emailed and she was great at getting back to me! She may charge a travel fee to go to LI as she would have to travel in from the city. I found her through a co-worker of mine who highly recommended her.Foudn the site: www.silkcakes.com

Happy New Years Girls...quick questions for the girl that are having/had their reception in WGP. when i met with Lindsay last week we were talking about flowers. I originally wanted low centerpieces... but she suggested high ones due to the high ceilings...
i really didn't consider this. i don't want to spend so much money on flowers. is it that big of price difference? My mom is paying for the flowers. but i don't want to take advantage of her. anybody have any pics of WGP with low & high CPs?

I was also thinking of having high centerpieces since the ceilng is so high. If anything we can maybe do half high and half low. That might not be too bad in that room. I'm in the same room and love it.
Oh and btw HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

I am also in the WGP, I haven'r booked my florist yet but am also thinking about high and low centerpieces to keep the cost down. I also want something with candles since my wedding is in the evening.
LIW bride PrincessConsuela had these cool centerpieces that are high yet do no involve too many flowers
