question for you ladies,
when we met with Lindsey she said we booked when they still had the old menu, so we have the old menu. She said we could look into switching to the new one, but I never got to see the new one. She said the difference is mostly the entrees. Im pretty happy with our menu and dont think I want to change it, but I am curious whats on the new menu...
TIA
I'm not sure if i have the old or the new but these are my entree choices...
Shrimp Scampi
Chateau Briand
Grilled Salmon or Tilapia Oreganata(host picks one)
Fox Hunt Chicken
Land & Sea Duette (Filet Mignon and shrimp scampi)
Duck al Orange
North Fork Vegetables
do you want the descriptions too?
This is not that different than my menu. I dont have it in front of me, but i think it is:
Filet Mignon
Fox Hunt Chicken
duck a la orange
Salmon
North Fork Veggies
Stuffed Shrimp
veal
Pretty close!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
what are you all doing for appatizers/salads/combo course? And dessert?
We are doing the shell fish combo course. I really hope its good and fresh!! They told us they use what is fresh so they can't say whats exactly in it- which is fine as long as its good!
We are doing the waffle sundae and had them add whipped cream and a cherry. Hehe.
Also, they gave us an intermezzo which wasn't on our menu (shhh) dunno if they always do this. but we chose raspberry.
okay now Im getting hungry and its 8am...

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
good morning girls!!i forgot to tell you all one more thing about our wedding at fox hollow.. i cant believe i forgot to mention it..
we had the briar fox room...
well during the reception there was a leak in the ceiling right under one of the tables!! i had no idea till after but apparently they moved the table over and gave them all a bottle of champagne.
then... one of the waitresses kept dropping her tray and there was broken glass all over! so it was scary with people having no shoes on going to the bar getting a drink!!
and also... the way they arranged the tables were wrong.. the diagram they give you with the table #'s and the way the set it up was different!!
so basically the people i wanted towards the front, ended up in the back.. (only happened to one side)
i dont know why i forgot to mention these things.. but at least i didnt know any of this till after.. so it was not a huge deal.. i dont think anyone complained about it.)
sooooooo just be careful with the seating... you get to check the room before they let guests in there so if you notice the numbers are wrong, they can easily switch it!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
crosspost from '08 Brides'Ok, I'm a fox hollow bride, officially. I just sent out our second deposit and there's no turning back now.
There are some things that are really starting to tick me off though. For one, no one told me about Arthur and the Fox Hollow won't confirm or deny anything. They say Arthur is in 'the main building'.
I feel like I was mislead about the capacity of the Garden Pavillion so I switched my reception to the Briar Fox, and I'll have my cocktail hour in the Winter Garden. This works out for me because i won't constantly be worrying about my guest list, but I signed with them initially because of the WGP.
No one will give me a straight answer about whether or not I actually need a day of coordinator. Telling me that 'the fox hollow will take care of everything' is just not specific enough for this first/only time bride and the whole thing is starting to annoy me.
Ami being unreasonable?
I just had to remind Ronnie to send over my contract so I can sign it. Shouldn't an organization who has been 'doing this for over 20 years' be a little more organized?
Am i having my first Brideszilla moment?
:(

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
okay - i'm not entirely sure who or what Arthur is....i apologize for that!As for a DOC - i think that's a personal choice.. The Fox Hollow provides you with both a maitre' D & a bridal person for the day (to spend the day with you and take care of everything).
If you have the extra money in your budget - maybe think about it....but if I had to pay - I wouldn't have one. I am having one because of a very generous offer from someone on the boards just starting her business...
Welcome to the Fox Hollow thread!!!!!!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
I was a little upset when I heard Arthur wasn't a BM anymore. I booked with him. He actually emailed me. He is still with the Scotto Brother's corporation, but based out of their corporate offices rather than the Fox Hollow itself.I hired a DOC through PWP. I don't know how useful it is yet, but I will definitely let you know after April 19th!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
I have a question about the Inn at Fox Hollow - I know they offer a Sunday Brunch but is that open only to the guests of the hotel? I have my rooms blocked at the Executive (because the rooms were MUCH cheaper) but now some of my guests want to go to brunch the next morning. I know the Fox Hollow has one but can anyone go as long as they pay for it?

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Thanks a bunch! I have an appt with PWP in a few weeks, just to go out there and see what they offer. I'll hold off on any decisions until I hear more from the girls on the board.I'm not upset that Arthur isn't the BM anymore, just that I wasn't notified. It's nice to have a point of contact with an organization and I was not given a replacement.
I mean, if I wasn't on these boards, and didn't know about Arthur, I'd be sending him e-mails and calling him and he wouldn't be getting back to me. That's likely to have a very negative affect on me ( which it has ).
I just hope the Fox Hollows excellent reputation is based on something real, and that I didn't make a huge mistake booking there.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
i do remember seeing a sign at the front desk which read something like, if your guests aren't their guests, they pay $15.95 for breakfast - or something close to that. but i do remember knowing it was ok and that they'd/ we'd be charged for each person who wasn't staying at the inn.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
oh $15.95 isn't so bad and that sounds like something I wouldn't have to organize either which would be great! I'm hoping there is something like that where they can just decide that day if they want to go over to the Inn for breakfast and pay for it without me having to make reservations for a certain number of people and stuff you know? Thanks!

If you are that concerned, I would give them a call and go in and speak to someone there in person about it.
Waiting around, hoping you didn't make a 'huge mistake' about the biggest choice you can make about your wedding is way to stressful and can ruin the rest of the planning process for you
