the 20% service charge is the same as the gratuity..

then you still should tip the maitre'd and the bridal attendant on top of that..

we also tipped the bartenders from the start.

Right, but the 'gratuity/service charge' is not on my contract at all.

the only additional fee listed is NYS Sales Tax

ok,, i see what you are saying
actually that was not on mine either.. but we knew we had to pay it.. and of course when you call with your final headcount .. they break down all the prices.. and sure enough it was on there..
you will get charged it . dont worry!

well.. I AM worried, b/c it's NOT on my contract. and the verbal promises they made to ME they are not honoring, so i don't think i should be charged anything if it's not on my contract.
They told me I should have gotten everything in writing...
well guess what... SO SHOULD THEY!

the first time i heard someone mention a service charge on the boards I got confused b/c it wasn't on my contract. so, it's not like i KNEW i had to pay it... they don't like that these boards exist b/c of the info we get, so they can't say i knew anything based on here either...
does that make sense?

sorry i wish i can help you more...
i just knew we had to pay even if it was not on our contract..

I spoke to my dad, and he said we're taking care of the waitstaff anyway, so not to worry about it.
I was just confused b/c I know that some RH's include the Service Charge and Tax in their PP prices if you negotiate well enough...
but i don't even remember him mentioning the service charge at all.
i was worried that they might try to make it more than 20% but if it wasn't on your contract either, and that's what it was i feel much better so you did help!
thank you!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

our contract saids

price per guest
20% service charge
NYS tax

so when we averaged the total cost we over estimated = price per person + 30%

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Hey girls,

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know what the placecards look like at Fox Hollow? I'm trying to decide if I need to make my own. TIA!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Hey ladies,

Does anyone know if the fox hollow would let my florist put their own flowers on the cake instead of me paying them $100 to do it? I do not know if a florist would charge more or less than that, but I think my florist (whoever it winds up being haha) would do a better job - better colors, more like my bouquet etc - and I just wanted to see if anyone asked that question.

TIA!

Yeah, as I get closer I may be doing the same thing I saw in your post that they are doing the menus for you. Do they put your name and wedding date at the top?

Oh...it would totally stink if that's where they put the guest book

Maybe I'll e-mail Jenn and ask her if there are any alternatives.

Thanks

I have some great pictures of the outside but it's empty...don't know if you want pics of an actual cocktail hour.

(PS i'm so jealous u might have it outside!!! I love that space but alas, February weddings are not outdoor friendly )
