Re: Greek Brides??
Hello! Yea, it has been quiet around here!I have been busy doing calligraphy for the invites!!!! What a pain in the butt! It would have been so much simpler to just print them out on the comp. But they are coming out really nice.

Re: Greek Brides??
It's nice that you are doing it on your own. Is it time consuming? What type of 'pen' are you using - i was thinking about doing this too....(when my time comes - time is moving so slow!! *lol*)

Re: Greek Brides??
Its not for bachelorette party - we are just going on vacation for 2 weeks!! Its me and three of my friends from law school. We take the NY bar on july 27 & 28 - so we are going to need much needed rest and and much needed shopping time! My credit card is really going to be used this summer -I'm actually thinking of going to St. Martin when I come back to visit my MOH that is going to medical school there. So much traveling - i dont travel much so this is defintiely going ot be a change -
Angela, I know you've gone to St. Martin before - do you know how much the air fare is?

Re: Greek Brides??
Two months til my wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!I woke up twice with nightmares this morning!
The first one- FH was playing with the stuff in my mom's china cabinet and he took everything and put it all on one shelf. then he tried to open the glass door... and something fell out to the floor. I thought it broke, but apparently, whatever it was, it was made of metal, so nothing happened to it.
The second one... much worse. It's my wedding day and it's cocktail hour... and we are in a different reception hall.. and they mad us walk in thru the back door. Weird! So then we go to the other room for the dinner, and this time, we are in the right place. So they go to announce FH and me- well, let me just say that my dress was so hideous! It was two pieces, and the top was a belly shirt with a halter top . anyway, they announce us, we come out, and we are waiting for our first dance... but they dont have the song!!!!! So Chris starts singing some weird wedding song (it wasnt even slow)... and I am so mortified at this point. And then there some girl dancing at the same time, during our first dance, and a whole bunch of people start dancing. And then I walk over and there are like 4 kids running around my feet (my big pet peeve- having kids running around my feet while I dance). What a disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Greek Brides??
Your day is approaching too Marcella!!!!!!!!!!!!!FM
Georgia, I am using a Parker calligraphy pen (and I bought waterproof ink - FYI, test your ink to make sure it doesnt smear when it's wet. Luckilly, I did after doing the second invite, and the orginal ink (made by Schaeffer) smeared!). I bought the Parker calligraphy set off of ebay for about 20 bucks.

Re: Greek Brides??
Hey Angela - We havent decided on photo yet. We love Creative Comp - but it is just so much money - we've pretty much been procrastinating because we havent even gone to see any other photographers either -I've been stressing about money lately - FH and I are paying for everything and its just gets so upsetting when we realize how much everythign is going to cost - if it was just the wedding we wouldnt have a problem - but between that and the honeymoon, the coop we want to buy and a car for me - its just get to be too much!
I'm in a down mood about wedding planning - i just want to jump over it - and just be married already -

Re: Greek Brides??
Hey girls - we've been quiet over here -I have a question -
What do you think of this as stefana - it isnt stefana but it is exactly what I want - it is acutally a wreath for a bride - i was thinking of buying two and tying them together with a satin ribbon - what do you think?? The only thing that i'm a little iffy about is the fact that the floors are yellow - i'm going to see if they can make then in ivory or white -

Re: Greek Brides??
Thanks Angela -i am going to ask them to see if they come in white - it will look more bridal like -I went looking for stefana in teh places in astoria and nothing caught my eye - so i'm looking elsewhere nowHow is your planning going?
ETA: Did you book the florist yet? We havent - we just saw pedestals on saturday - we are going to see Flower Michelle next thursday - and make a decision - so much money!! Pedestals quote was $5800 - but i might talk them down a bit -
He suggested using satin material on the steps - are you doing that or are you keeping the tulle? I wonder how it would look at the NRC with the satin material...

Re: Greek Brides??
We are using Arcadia for our florist. They are located in Westchester in Mamaroneck. He did our engagement party too and did a great job, so we booked him for the wedding too. I'm going to see a sample centerpiece the end of the month. On Tuesday, I'm going to look for my veil and headpiece and within the next few weeks I'm going to order the flower girl dresses.
Mike still needs to get his tuxedo so this month it's gonna be busy busy busy time!!!
and I'm still looking for a makeup artist who will travel to the Bronx to do my MIL's makeup and hair. I posted on the vendor board, but no replies.
any suggestions?
