Us Weekly is the first to report that singer Ashlee Simpson, 21, is currently in a Tokyo hospital after collapsing yesterday following an MTV Japan performance. The singer, whose album I Am Me, debuted at Number 1 last month, had just performed her single 'Boyfriend' before the audience when she told the crowd she felt unwell, and said to them, 'I love you guys.' She then collapsed in an elevator at MTV Japan and was rushed by ambulance to an undisclosed hospital where she has remained. Her publicist, Rob Shuter, confirmed the hospitalization to Us, but no further details. The singer has been on a strenuous tour schedule supporting her critically-lauded comeback album. 'She's wanted to prove over and over to her fans that she can perform live after what happened on SNL last year,' says one source. The singer's performamce at the Radio Music Awards on Monday has been canceled, and her family is currently waiting for a diagnosis before deciding whether to fly to Japan, or have Simpson return to the States. One source says the likely diagnosis will be exhaustion.

Writers Bloodshy and Avant and writer-producer Peer Astrom have been asked to work with Britney after she was impressed by their work on Madonna's comeback album Confessions On A Dancefloor.

According to The Sun she reportedly wants her next song to be 'a cross between Madonna and Kylie with an electronic edge.'

(Dec. 15) -- What would provoke party-girl Paris Hilton to denounce one of the hottest new clubs on the Hollywood scene?

Ever since its opening this summer, Club LAX (especially promoter Brent Bolthouse's Wednesday nights) is often filled with young celebrities like the Hilton sisters, Nicole Richie, Jesse Metcalfe and Mischa Barton.

But one celebutante thinks its hotness is on the wane.

Last night, when TMZ caught Paris and her sister Nicky running from the club to another one nearby (Mood), Paris flat-out dissed Club LAX to the sea of paparazzi, saying that 'LAX is the worst club in the world.'

Then she said, 'It's full of D-list celebrities.'

Whoa... that's harsh... especially coming from a pop princess who might actually have influence over what other people think.

Why the nasty comment, Paris? Did the DJ refuse to play one of the songs from your still-untitled CD?

The real buzz is that you've actually mended ways with your former-BFF Nicole Richie, whose former fiance Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein co-owns LAX. Maybe trying to take down his club is your way of making AM pay for breaking Nicole's heart.

Revenge was never so... hot.

It's ok to move on from the club of the moment -- another will undoubtedly open any mintue now.

TMZ put in a call to Paris' rep for comment about her statement. We're yet to hear back.

Ashlee Simpson's big comeback tour has been temporarily derailed in Tokyo, after she collapsed and was hospitalized following performance on MTV Japan Thursday.

The 'Catch Me When I Fall' singer, on the road to support her chart-topping I Am Me--and to prove to the world that she really can sing--remains in an undisclosed hospital, publicist Rob Shuter said Friday.


News of the hospitalization was first reported by Us Weekly, which said Simpson had just finished a rendition of the hit single 'Boyfriend' before telling the audience that she felt sick. 'I love you guys,' she said before exiting, only to collapse moments later in an elevator. She was immediately taken by ambulance to the hospital, per the magazine.


There's been no official word on the cause of the fainting spell, but Us Weekly quotes an unnamed source close to the family citing exhaustion as the reason for her collapse.

RENÉE Zellweger (above) has not taken back metrosexual cowpoke Kenny Chesney — despite what In Touch magazine says. The supermarket weekly claimed that the ex-couple, which had the marriage annulled in September, enjoyed two 'romantic' dinners at restaurants in Rocky Hill, Conn., recently. But Zellweger rep Nancy Ryder swears that while it's possible the two met for a meal, 'she and Kenny are not getting back together and they are not dating.' Got that?

Jessica Simpson plans to spend her first Christmas since splitting from husband Nick Lachey with her parents and sister in Hawaii, PEOPLE has learned.

As for how she's faring after filing for divorce on Friday, 'She's doing okay,' a source close to Simpson tells PEOPLE. 'She is emotional, and as upsetting as this is, she knows she made the right decision.'

Though the couple announced their split last month after three years of marriage, the source says that Simpson and Lachey got together on Friday for a short time. 'He came over to her parent's house. They spent a little time together and they said their goodbyes.'

Since their split, Simpson has been staying at her parents' house in L.A. while Lachey remains at the couple's Calabasas, Calif., home.

Britney Spears sued Us Weekly magazine for libel on Monday, accusing the publication of fabricating a story that she and husband Kevin Federline made a sexually explicit video and feared it might be released to the public.

The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeks $10 million in damages and $10 million for misappropriating Spears's name and image to promote sales. It also seeks unspecified punitive damages, the Associated Press reports.

The magazine says it is standing by its story, which ran in October, about a month after Spears, 24, gave birth to her first child, Sean Preston. She and Federline, 27, married in September of 2004.

'Us Weekly has a credible source, and we stand by our reporting,' an Us spokeswoman told Reuters.

According to Spears's lawsuit, Us Weekly reported that the couple told their lawyers that 'a member of their entourage had threatened to release raunchy footage of the two,' and that Spears feared that 'an X-rated tape starring the two may go public.' The magazine also reported that the couple watched the tape with their lawyers and were 'acting goofy' during the viewing.

The entire story is false, Spears's legal papers say. 'There was no laughter, disgust or goofy behavior while watching the video in the company of lawyers because they did not watch any video, and because there is no such video,' her suit reads.

The pop star's attorney, Martin Singer, tells Web site TMZ.com: 'Britney has finally decided to take a stand to put a stop to people fabricating these malicious lies about her.'

Are things about to get wild and woolly in the PR war between splitsville newlyweds Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson?
Frustrated with Jessica's sagging public approval ratings - as of yesterday, 71% of People's readers and 76% of Star magazine's blamed her and not Nick for ruining the three-year marriage - her handlers are taking the offensive in bashing Nick in an attempt to resurrect her image.

Lowdown hears that Simpson's PR man, Rob Shuter at Dan Klores Communications (which also reps the Daily News), has been calling nearly every gossip reporter in town with tips about Nick - alleging everything from greediness to lechery.

Shuter most recently peddled the tall tale that Lachey hired A.J. DiScala, the estranged manager-hubby of 'Sopranos' star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, to help win some of Jessica's assets in the divorce.

She officially filed for divorce on Friday.

Reports a Lowdown spy: 'Rob's been shopping around stories that Nick was messing around, and has been trying to take any woman that was in the same room with Nick and passing that off as a torrid affair. Now he's pushing that A.J. manager story. It's all bull.'

Yesterday, a certain somebody apparently planted an item in a lesser gossip column about Nick shamelessly selling his side of the story to OK! magazine for $300,000 - an item that coincidentally just so happened to tout another Klores client, the New York club Pacha.

'We have not done a deal for Nick Lachey's story,' OK! editor Sarah Ivens told Lowdown. 'We have no deal nor are we looking to do a deal for Nick's story.'

Yesterday Shuter denied going on the offensive for Jessica. 'Not true,' he wrote in response to Lowdown's detailed E-mail, refusing to elaborate. A rep for Lachey declined comment.

Peculiar details have emerged about the recent nuptials of the “Ocean’s Twelve” star to Lucianne Bozan at City Hall in Manhattan — but it turns out their “source” was hardly rock-solid.

Various publications around the world, as well as several Web sites, have “reported” on such bizarre tidbits as a garbageman catching the bridal bouquet, wedding guests dining on pretzels and knishes from a roadside cart, and the newlyweds trying to hail a taxi which was commandeered by a pushy Wall Streeter who told them, “I don’t give a [bleep] who you are — I’m late for a lunch.”

The reports, it seems, were based on an account that originally appeared in Defamer.com — and was obviously a spoof, but was picked up without credit and repeated as fact. “Incompetent reporting at its best,” groused a fan site at LiveJournal.com.

Gwen Stefani Said Pregnant With First Baby

Gwen Stefani, nominated for five Grammy Awards including album of the year for 'Love.Angel.Music.Baby.,' is pregnant with her first child, according to Us Weekly.


The 36-year-old pop star and Gavin Rossdale, 38, were married three years ago. The baby is due in June, the magazine reported Tuesday.


'We are delighted,' Us Weekly quotes Rossdale's father, Douglas, as saying. Stefani's mother, Patti, also reportedly confirmed the pregnancy to the magazine.


I'm so happy for them. I hope everything works out for them

An e-mail from The Associated Press to Stefani's representative wasn't immediately returned Tuesday.


Rossdale has a 16-year-old daughter, Daisy Lowe, from his relationship with fashion designer Pearl Lowe. He discovered he was the father in 2004 after taking a DNA test.


'Love.Angel.Music.Baby.' is Stefani's first solo album. It includes one of the biggest songs of the year, 'Hollaback Girl.' That infectious single also earned Stefani a nomination for record of the year and best female pop vocal performance.


She is the lead singer of No Doubt and a budding fashion designer.


The British-born Rossdale fronted the rock band Bush, which released the popular 1994 album, 'Sixteen Stone.' They last released the 2001 album, 'Golden State,' as well as a greatest hits CD in November
