Colin Farrell has entered an undisclosed treatment facility for exhaustion and dependency on prescription medication related to a back injury, his publicist says.

'We ask that the press respect the privacy of Mr. Farrell and his family,' the rep, Danica Smith, said in a written statement provided to the Associated Press. 'No other comments (are) to be made at this time,' Smith added.

The Dublin-born actor, 29 – whose latest movie, A New World opens on Christmas Day – has established a reputation for hell raising. Earlier this year, when asked about London nightlife at that city's premiere of Alexander (which ultimately proved a critical and commercial disappointment), Farrell told PEOPLE: 'I love it ... the bars, the restaurants, the clubs – loads to do. I was here for two months doing Alexander, and we didn't really leave the hotel bar.'

Lohan's Parents Reach Divorce Settlement

Another chapter in Lindsay Lohan's very public family life has come to a close: Her parents, Michael and Dina Lohan, decided on Monday to settle their contentious divorce, according to attorneys for both sides.

'Dina and the children are delighted that this chapter in their lives is finally over,' Dina's attorney, Robert S. Cohen, told PEOPLE. 'And it is over.'

The settlement comes the same day the divorce trial was expected to resume. Though terms of the agreement are confidential, a source close to Dina says she is happy with the outcome.

Through his attorney, John DiMascio, Jr., Michael said on Monday, 'I'm happy with the agreement and look forward to the opportunity to rebuild my relationship with my children.'

The strife between Lindsay's parents has very much been in the public eye, and even serves as the basis of several songs on her album A Little More Personal (Raw). Also, in the video for her single 'Confessions of a Broken Heart,' which Lindsay, 19, directed, actors playing her parents argue violently as a horrified young Lindsay (played by her younger sister Aliana) cowers.

Before her parents divorce proceeding began over the summer, the actress told PEOPLE, 'I don't think any girl wants to see her parents in this situation...I've been hurt.'

But it was clear which side Lindsay was on. 'My mom has always been a great support, and she has put so much of her own life into my career,' said the star, who at the time canceled the remainder of her Herbie: Fully Loaded European tour to bolster her mother.

Dina, 43, and Michael, 45, married in 1985. In divorce papers, which were made public, Dina claimed that her husband was abusive and a philanderer. Michael, meanwhile, originally sought half of Dina's earnings, which she makes as Lindsay's manager.

Michael is currently serving time in prison for crimes including assault and driving while impaired.

Beyonce could be found in a Los Angeles-area department store over the weekend. But she sure wasn't there to pick out items for her wedding registry.

'I have no wedding plans,' she told AP Television News, smiling, then breaking out into her trademark huge laugh. 'No, I'm not rushing.'

Then just where have all those reports been coming from — predicting a summer ceremony for Beyonce and superstar hip-hop artist and producer Jay-Z?

'They've been saying it about every celebrity forever,' she replied, shaking her head. 'It's not personal. They just do it to everyone.

'I'm 24 years old!' Beyonce added, laughing big again.

On Nov. 29, the announcement of her separation from Nick Lachey just six days in the past, Jessica Simpson lunched with best friend CaCee Cobb at L.A.'s chic Italian restaurant Orso. 'She didn't look upset at all,' an eyewitness said. 'She looked like she was having a great time, giggling and laughing.'

Based on outward appearances, it might be safe to assume that Jessica is over Nick, and the only thing left for them to do is to get their divorce and go their separate ways. But that day at Orso, an unexpected piece of jewelry made an appearance: Jessica's wedding band! She wore it, not on her ring finger, but around her neck, suspended between her breasts on a thin gold chain. And that, experts tell Star, is a powerful signal that the separation may not be the final act.

'Typically, when someone puts a ring around the neck, it symbolizes the death of a partner,' says Dr. Howard Devore, a San Francisco-based psychologist who has not treated Nick or Jessica. 'But it also demonstrates that the love that person shared meant a lot to them.' And Dr. Jane Adams, a NYC-based relationship expert, who also hasn't treated Nick or Jessica, says: 'It may signal her ambivalence about going through with a divorce.'

Indeed, one source tells Star: 'There is still so much love and affection between them, no one would be surprised if the split was just temporary. This is a couple who really do want to be together, but they both have a lot of growing up to do.'

Realistically, though, is there any chance for reconciliation? 'Sure there is,' says a source close to Nick. 'When you love someone, you just don't stop loving them. Things could go in any direction.' And couples who separate do sometimes successfully reconcile. One study cited in the reference text Journal of Divorce & Remarriage found that approximately 10 percent of all currently married couples in the U.S. have separated and reconciled.

The Dec. 1 birth of Violet Affleck — the daughter of J.Lo's former fiancé Ben Affleck and his wife, Jennifer Garner — may have added extra tension to what sources say is a heartbreaking sore point between Lopez, 36, and Anthony, 37: She longs to have a baby with Marc, but he seemed to begin dragging his feet on the subject after their June 2004 wedding. 'Jennifer has wanted to be a mom ever since they tied the knot,' says a source. 'But while Marc told her he wants children with her, every time J.Lo brings up the subject, he says the time isn't right.'

THEY'RE NOT 'KID'-DING
Marc already has kids — a daughter, Arianna, 10, with an ex-girlfriend, and sons Cristian, 4, and Ryan, 2, with ex-wife Dayanara Torres. 'Marc says that with his career and his existing kids, he can't devote time to a new baby right now, and that can't make Jennifer happy,' the source adds. A friend of the couple says the issue must be especially stressful given that 'Jennifer has a strong mothering instinct. Having a baby would mean more to her than winning a Grammy or an Oscar.'

JESSICA SIMPSON is certainly not a desperate housewife, but that doesn't mean she can't play one on TV. I hear that the newly-single blonde bombshell may pop up on Wisteria Lane for a guest shot on 'Desperate Housewives.' 'There's talk of her being on an episode or two,' a source tells me. That may explain why Simpson recently had lunch with EVA LONGORIA. The two were spotted last week at L.A.'s Cha Cha Cha restaurant. Toward the end of their lunch, Longoria excused herself to go to the restroom. She actually made a beeline to the waiter to pick up the tab. 'Thanks for making me laugh,' Simpson said to Longoria, a fellow diner reports. 'You know how much I need that right now.' Simpson's rep had no comment. A 'Housewives' rep insists there are no plans for a Simpson appearance.
