depends how your card is.. if you have inserts then have the regular wedding invite on one insert..
on the second insert ask them to join you in celebration of the wedding..
Well I'm having another invitation for the reception here - so that card will have an insert for the garba and the reception. Would I still say in the celebration of the wedding even though we'll have been married for 2 months by then?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
What wedding favors did you guys have at your wedding and what kind of favors did you recieve from other weddings and really like? I am marrying an Irish man later this year and am at a loss over the favor. We want to do an irish favor but are not against an indian favor if it is creative enough. We don't want to do picture frames, candles or a ganesh statue. Something unique!
Thanks.

Wine stoppers are very cute. They will work really well with his guests as well as yours. They are also very practical.I saw a 2 piece chrome wine bottle opener and stopper set. Thought of you cause it was so cute

Are pocket mirrors too feminine? I was thinking that most guys don't care about or even use favors, and if I had a mirror the guys would just give them to their dates anyway (most of the guys I know are married). Here is an example of what I was thinkng. What are your thoughts?

Cute. How are you going to wrap/gift bag it? Do you guys have any single guys coming without dates.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
We could probably buy small favor bags or boxes and present them that way. I have very FEW single guys coming. Out of 250 guests, I think less than 10 will be totally single guys. I figured I can't please everyone so might as well please the majority.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Sounds great to me. I was just asking about the wrapping, because I didn't take that into consideration and price goes up drastically

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
At local arts & crafts stores, they sell favor bags for less than $1 each. And I wouldn't give a favor to every person, but every couple/family.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
so FH and I were talking yesterday - and weren't sure if we're supposed to invite all our friends with a date, even if they don't have a significant other - any opinions? or single for the engagement and w/ date for reception?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hey girls -I don't post very often but I read this thread all the time for ideas so thank you guys so much for your comments, etc.
Anyways...I was wondering if any of you have booked a photographer and videographer separately (like two different vendors) and if you had experienced any problems with that...
We really like this one photographer but she couldn't really recommend any videographers - so we were going to try and find someone ourselves....but I talked to someone on the phone who told me that he really does not recommend booking those two separately since there can be lots of conflicts....
Ugh...sooo confusing!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I invited my friends and they assumed they could bring dates. I basically had to call them and clarify b/c of restricted amount of space i can not accommodate your date. Sorry! Unless they are married or engaged then the significant other is invited.Welcome New Vendors
