Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

Nothing new - wedding stuff has been put on hold - FH's uncle passed away a little over two weeks ago and then his grandfather passed away a few days ago - sux - so just been trying to get through all of that - FH was so close to them - especially his grandfather - he's torn up about it
Other than that - engagement's in less than 2 months and I haven't done my labels or mailed out invites yet

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

Going to India in April for my outfits... I need something that will hide my flabby tummy!

I'm still at a loss for favors and unique appetizer ideas. I feel that sushi was the 'in' thing a few years ago and now need a new idea!

I'm really sorry for your FH's loss. I understand what he's going through. I lost my grandmother very recently.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I've seen thai recently.

I agree about sushi, i am looking to include more american appetizers and keep the dinner predominately indian.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I have a question for you guys.. So my mom was unhappy with the coaster idea for favors so I'm considering a set of two engraved champagne glasses/couple. Thoughts?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I like the idea of champagne glasses, especially a set of 2. One glass alone is pretty useless. Wouldn't getting a set double the price though? And does that mean that kids aren't getting favors?

Thanks Joshi and Pthapar
champagne glasses sound like a good idea - it wouldn't work for me b/c the majority of the crowd are non-drinkers - but depending on your crowd it could work. Also, wouldn't it be more expensive?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I comes out to $4 per couple. We would only have about two tables of children there who would not be getting the favors. We have 400 people and 375 are adults.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I've got a question..I need my hair and makeup done for two events, two separate days. I went to find out and the woman quoted me $850. $300 for the first day since I would go to the salon myself, and $550 for her to come out to NJ for the second event. Does that sound about right??
