Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Is it bad to give the card to people in person - rather than mail it?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
There was a community dinner coming up and FH and I stood up till 4am to finish about 80 invites just so we could hand them out at the dinner instead of paying $1.16 each. YEah i know we sound like cheap a$$es but hey thats 80 people we didnt have to call for the their address.

Hey thanks for replying back :)
yeah ur right about the cake taking away from the dessert table..i never thought of it that way..makes sense
I had asked them about decorations and they quoted me some prices, but I already have someone to decorate so I dont think i will even bother asking them..
hahahha i cant believe it said 'ireland'!!!!! did you send it out that way?? lol I would be soooo annoyed!!! I get to see my invites in two weeks, my mom gets back..along with my dresses and jewelry and all the other goodieshehe
I am sure your mom will bring you beautiful dresses and Jewelry. India has so many pretty things.
When is she coming back? I am sure you are so anxious to see all the goodies.
We end up DIY our own invites coz we got so tired of correcting the mistake (and we were running out of time). It took us 2 wks to do them, but they came out good and no one believed we made them ourselves.

I would have so much anxiety - I went to India to do all my shopping and I was soo picky about it because everything's beautiful - it's just a matter of getting what suits you best - thinking back it would have been a lot less stressful if I had left it to someone else

i left all my wedding trousseau shopping for my mom and dad.. they went to town with it.. we butted heads here and there a bit.. but everything came out so well.. my engagement stuff was also picked out by them...my reception outfit too.. we got it from here.. but it was a combined decision..

Hope you feel better
So I needed help w/ reception card wording. My wedding is in india in august, then we're coming back here and having our garba and reception here in october (7 years from when we got together) - so I'm having trouble deciding how to word the invite - any suggestions?
