Check with your hall first for the dish tag before you DIY any. Most hall provide them if you have a buffet dinner and they will put them in front.

your dj should be able to let you know of a dhol player, my dj actually played the dhol also and he was freaking excellent, everyone loved it!!
if your dj doesnt know of anyone, you can give him a call, his # is (646) 339-5406 and his name is Ravi (he works for DJ Magic Mike)

noooo my mom didnt send me any pics but i trust her completely with all desi wear! lol so I know she prob did an amazing job! I will, however, get an email with the invitations so i can preview before she orders them :)
how's everything going with your planning?? you're getting married the same weekend as me! so far, i have the photo/video done, florist/decorator, and invitations/favors my mom will do, and of course outfits..

The planning is surprisingly going pretty well. We're done with all the big vendors.....got photo/video, dj, ceremony music, ceremony site, florist, hair & make up, limo, hotels, hm, mandragodi (sari i change into), bm's sari's, my dress came in today.....the only big thing left is invites, haha....and that's a really big thing that we have to get a move on.

other than that, i have to get my doj (for my dress...already have jewelry to wear with the sari), presents for bridal party, have to book rd, pick music, pick the menu, little things like that.

definitely fm or post if you have any ?'s or need suggestions on things

oh Wow! you have A LOT of stuff done already!! I have reception hall and mehndi hall done also..clothing and jewelry i dont have to worry about because my mom is getting that dne. Who are you going with for hair and makeup??

Hi girls
Thank you for all your support!

craznan
I am glad that you had a great time in yor bach, I wish i was there too
You should def. check out the contract because these DJ usually charge you more if they are the one playing in your wedding, and the other DJs prices are lower.
Your big day is coming, r u ready?

Dulhan,
I see u r the sterling girl too, I have one of my event there and they are wonderful! Did you use any of their decor?
also, read your invites writing sample from India very careful. We correct it 3 times before we place the order.

How about other girls

what do you mean use any of their decor? they didnt offer anything, if we do, its an extra charge. And im kinda annoyed that they dont even offer a cake! a lot of wedding halls do that, but of course this one doesnt lol nnow i gotta look for a cake too. oh yeah and as far as the writing sample, i know i def have to check it twice! lol they tend to spell things differently or better yet, not proofread! lol

Gibi....if you want a coloring/activity book template...FM me your email address. It doesn't have an indian bride & groom on it....but I was thinking of passing these out to the kids when the adults get the programs at the ceremony.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I'm using Kacey from Khouloud's (she's a vendor on here) for hair & make up. and we're using FM Entertainment for DJ. We were actually considering Sharad, but first he was on vacation and then apparently he's involved with some commercial that's going to air during the super bowl....so he was busy with that....and we figured he might jack up prices now...........and rather than waiting to find out, we just went with FM, hehe. Honestly, I don't know what the prices are like for Sharad, but for everything we want, we're spending a little over $2k....that includes 2 plasmas, live feed, dj & mc, etc.
