DJ KuchaF- (if there is a low rate i will give him that)
We booked DJ Kucha, and very nicely, He DID NOT show up at our weddings. He sent someone else which has no idea our names, our first dance songs and our rundowns. The best part was, the first sub DJ was 1 hour late So on the first day it was a mess at the begining. DH was about to kill someone. and then the sub DJ arrieved and thing s get a little better.
the second day the sub was a lot better, (we have more time to prepare too). I give him more credit coz he played okay and tried his best to make the party going. We were okay with him. He didnt play the songs we want but he did play our first song.
Beside DJ Kucha, all my vendors were wonderful. I highly recommend any of them. I see all of you are using other DJs, I was worry that someone on this broad is using him. I dont' want this to happen to other people. So if any of your relatives or friends want to use DJ Kucha, be careful. You can FM me for more details.
Hey GG, I am sorry to hear about your experience w/ Kucha! We're using Kucha and quite a few of my friends who were married in '06 and '07 used Kucha and I've seen him DJ and every event.. when I booked with him, I specifically asked him to be there and not the DJ's that work for his company.. and his rate is much higher.. you could book him specifically or his DJ company.. look over your contract and if you had specifically booked him, get your money back..
b/c I know Sharad also does this.. you can either book him at like 2500 or you can book his DJ company which is run under the same name!
I'm glad all else went well for you..

We had a contract with him stated that He would be there personally (With his real name) and trust me, many of our relatives and friends used him too. That why it was a suprise that he didn't show us and didn't called us to let us know if he had an emergency or what, and then we found out from friends afterward that this was not the first time he didn't show up to the wedding. The First sub DJ wasn't even from his company. He was just doing DJ K a favor to show up, that's why he was late.
The funny thing was, I met him 3 days before our wedding and he told me everything would be fine.
If he showed up in your friends wedding before, I am happy for you and I am glad that none of your friend had to go thru what we went thru. For me, He is a unreliable and unprofessional. I didnt' mean to scare another bride here. (If I did, I am sorry)
Thanks for the
, We are okay, Our wedding was still fun. We just want to let other people know that this happened to us and let other brides to be aware and hope that they will be careful of choosing their DJ in the future.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
So sorry to hear about the DJ GG! thats one of the things im worried about..i need to make sure my dj knows what he has to do! oh and thats when I actually find one who is reasonably priced! All these desi dj's are sooo expensive, compared to american DJ's. My wedding wont have crazy amount of dancing either, so its pretty much hiring a person to play music and make announcements lol

i got the samples from whiteaisle today. ughh not what i expected at all!
plus, FH didn't understand why i need to order samples now he does! What am i suppose to do nowi still have no placecards and table numbers!
go to a crafts store like ac moore or michaels....they usually have place cards and cards that you can use for your table #'s.....and you can be creative with them
that's a good idea! i was originally going for a fall theme and bought these leaf placecard holders for like $80 but then saw someone just buy something from ac moore and put leaf stickers on them and it looked sooo nice.
or you can even buy pre-made table numbers and then put crystals over them to make it look prettyy

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hey guys, awesome weekend, the bach party went really good. My girls took me into the city and surprised me with a Hotel room on the upper east side, nice area, near central park. Then they brought all this liquor and we had some in the room. They got me this crown that lit up and said bride to be and a bachelorette sash to wear all night and then a shot glass on a necklace to wear all night, hehehehehe, those were cool.We then went out to dinner nearby and went to this club called, 'The Grand', on 58th street and park ave. We had the best time!!!!
They played great music and I got nice and toasted, hehehehe. We had a late checkout the next morning so we got to chill and relax there in the morning, it was really nice and I had an awesome time!!!!! Wow, looks like you guys been really busy too.
ggcopying, sorry about your DJ, I guess I should check my contract with Sharad, I didn't book him specifically because I heard his other Dj's and they are also good, so I'm not too worried, but i'm soo sorry that had to happen. At least you said everybody had a good time, so that was the important part.
I'm not having any programs, what't point, where I can save money, I'm trying to. The guests at my wedding won't even really care who's who, they just wanna eat and dance.
Yeah, a bottle of liquor would be really good, but I rather wait until Sangeet on Thursday to get toasty, start pre-gaming for the big Finale on Saturday, hehehehehehe

The planning is surprisingly going pretty well. We're done with all the big vendors.....got photo/video, dj, ceremony music, ceremony site, florist, hair & make up, limo, hotels, hm, mandragodi (sari i change into), bm's sari's, my dress came in today.....the only big thing left is invites, haha....and that's a really big thing that we have to get a move on.
other than that, i have to get my doj (for my dress...already have jewelry to wear with the sari), presents for bridal party, have to book rd, pick music, pick the menu, little things like that.
definitely fm or post if you have any ?'s or need suggestions on things

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hi girlsThank you for all your support!
craznan
I am glad that you had a great time in yor bach, I wish i was there too
You should def. check out the contract because these DJ usually charge you more if they are the one playing in your wedding, and the other DJs prices are lower.
Your big day is coming, r u ready?
Dulhan,
I see u r the sterling girl too, I have one of my event there and they are wonderful! Did you use any of their decor?
also, read your invites writing sample from India very careful. We correct it 3 times before we place the order.
How about other girls

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I'm gonna speak to my DJ today to confirm everything so we will see. I don't think Sharad himself is doing it but that's ok.Yeah I think I'm ready. People at work say that I'm too relaxed, maybe I am, or maybe since I've been with my FH for so long (almost 9 years), it's like just the next step in our progression and it feels so natural that I'm not nervous, Yet.
Tomorrow is my last day at work and also the last day that I will be on the forums. I will definately write a full review and post pics when I get back from Hawaii. Just finished all the placecards and favors late last night and my sister finished the card box. It's very simple. I didn't wanna pay a lot of money for a box that I wasn't gonna keep after the wedding, it's just a secure moneyholder. Today I start my pampering as well. Gonna go and get a full body wax (Well that hurts, so I guess that's not really pampering), then tomorrow getting mani/pedi and eyebrows done, and then Thursday is the Sangeet. Wow, it hasn't hit me that it's MY WEDDING!!! Why hasn't it hit me??? I was excited during the planning, but now I'm casual. I don't know. Sorry for the long post but I just needed to talk about anything,
