Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

well our parents wanted us to forgo the proposal because they didn't want him giving me the ring before the ceremony.. and we obliged because we didn't want them to get all hyped up about it..

it was kinda the same for us, but I really wanted him to do an actual proposal before the engagement party , so he did in a very romantic way a couple of days before!! :)

My wedding is May of 2009. It'll be 2 faith marriages and reception - a 3 day event. Does anyone know of any good photographers/videographers?

This a local studio I'm thinking about FX studios, I also checked out Prestige Weddings in Queens. - Has anyone heard good/bad things about either?

I was planning on inviting my coworkers, but I wasnt sure whether I need to invite them with a guest. I have never met any of their significant others, so im not sure what to do.

I'm using House of Talent Studios in Hicksville - I was really happy with their work and their price - they have a website as well. FM me for more info.

I think if they're married you have to invite their significant others, but otherwise you don't have to invite boyfriends/girlfriends.

same issue here.. and to top it off, i'm switiching to another company in a few weeks!! but i would have to invite the new folks.. it looks awkward if i invite them w/o a guest b/c they wouldn't know anyone there..

am i thinking along the right path?
