Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

omg girls get this.. just another example of nutty desis are..

so FH and I decided maybe we'll do a website to get our registry and directions out to our guests.. so majority of the websites offer trial runs.. so i made one like a week ago just to see how it looks and stuff..

now FH talks to an old friend from school.. and she's all about oo how's wedding planning.. blah blah.. when do you plan on sending out the invites and all.. FH plans on inviting her, but was just avoiding any wedding talk.. all of a sudden she tell him.. I LOVE YOUR WEBSITE!! .. FH was like what.. how did you even find out about it.. she goes.. I just googled you.. now the problem is, since it is a trial it won't come up on google.. which means she went it and tried different combos of our names till she hit something.. isn't that something.. people are lunyssss

GT---I'm sure your outfits are beautiful. It's hard to find unique one of a kind pieces NY.

I'm actually guyanese as well --- LOL to your bella story. I can so relate.

My wedding is May of 2009. It'll be 2 faith marriages and reception - a 3 day event. Does anyone know of any good photographers/videographers?

This a local studio I'm thinking about FX studios, I also checked out Prestige Weddings in Queens. - Has anyone heard good/bad things about either?

hey gyal

Welcome and congrats!

oww a 3 day event sounds fun. Whats nationality is your FH?

Well, i went with RendezvousWedding.com. FM if you want some info.

He's actually guyanese as well - we have to appease the parents so we're doing Hindu Wedding Friday, Saturday Muslim and Sunday Reception.

I'll check the website....

If me pickney is bad we gonna beat them rass too

Have you taught about who your going to use for a dj yet?

Haha! to your comment above.

I was thinking about getting a DJ from Rum Jungle, I've never been disappointed with the music there. I gotta do some investigating.

I actually started looking for Tassa guys as well, from what I hear they get booked up fast! Unfortunately, they don't promote themselves, so it's like lookin for a needle in a haystack! I heard they charge anywhere from $800 - $1200. Crazy!

If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear it.

Well, i used this guy name Patrick Hall he is the MC. His company name is ultimate sounds DJ not sure if you heard of him. he did my cousin's wedding so i booked him. I wanted a tassa band but i am doing the nikkah first then the reception all in one day at the reception hall so i guess tassa was a lil too much for us. but, i would like a dancer. Do you have any recommendations? you know coolie wedding is complete if they don't have that!

I would love to have either a breakdancer/salsa dancer/or even a belly dancer. I'm not a fan of Deeraj at all. I saw an amazing performance in Jan @ the Wedding Expo @ DeRiver - they had a young kid breakdancing. He was soooooo amazing - If I could find him I'd book him for my reception as well.

I never heard of him, but I'm open to anything and everything. How's the music?
