Wow, that's awesome! To think that you just got engaged, these couple of weeks must have been a whirlwind for you. CONGRATS! Did you deal with Mike Closs? He's so wonderful.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Hi everyone, I'm trying to decide what color flowers to put in my high centerpieces. I was going to use different shades of pink but after staring at the pictures of the dome room I'm thinking they may not go well. What is everyone else doing? Now I'm thinking maybe whites and cream colors. I keep changing my mind! I just want it to look really elegant.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I'm in the 'Oak' Room which is the small room downstairs and because of this am doing low CP.

But, the Dome Room is so gorgeous and with the ivy on the ceiling and the 'garden' feel you really can do any color. What are your colors? You can definitely play up the ivory/gold - so luxe! I'm trying to keep my CP simple because the rooms are so ornate (mine has al fresco paintings on the wall and chandeliers at every other table) I definitely don't want to compete with the decor, just complement it.
Tell us what your BM dresses, theme, colors, etc...I'm sure we can help!

Since we are going to be at Jericho on the same day, I was wondering what time your party is going to finish?

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I just ordered my flowers.. I am in the dome room.. we are getting high centerpieces and the florist had these perfect pedastals (I guess what they are called).. they go perfectly with the vines on the dome itself, it's hard to explain what they really look like, but they pretty much mirror what is on the dome.. I am having all white flowers (roses and such) with some light blues added in since my theme is blue and white

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Well my bridal party colors are different shades of pink. My centerpieces are mostly all roses and are very full. Thats about all I have so far. I was considering doing a pink/black theme but I dont think it will work out.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Photographer Question for you gals!

Anyone here used/using SilverFox? I ask because I inquired as to why they are not a vendor there and was told that the Banquet Mgrs do not like them, said they (the photographers) try and take over.

They are on my top 3 list (so far) of photographers.

Thanks!

-Jill

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Nope, I liked them when I first started looking at photographers but realized after my meeting with Twelfth Night that most pictures were taken by Dominic, so it was his style that I liked...that's who I went with. And I asked Mike Closs about Twelfth Night and he gave me great reviews on him, so that made me feel even better.

IMO Silverfox's work of years past is much nicer than their recent work, especially their video.

Did not get an invite (at least not today), but knew it was going on (had meeting with Gina last week). I will SO be there! It's going to be going on in ALL rooms, and there will even be dresses there from Bridal Reflections!!

Yeah!!

Can hardly wait!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

It will be me, possibly my MOH and 1 of my BMs. I want FH to come, but he works nights and would have to take the day off or work during the day (and he HATES mornings).

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I am going to ask my mom and sister if they can come, but I'm not sure that they'll want to trek out from West Islip on a work night. We'll see! I'm very excited about seeing dresses, since I'm planning to go shopping over my February break from teaching. Yay!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Go teachers! I'm in the middle of my fourth year teaching English at Long Beach High School. I may be in for just as bad a trek in the fall, though, since Will and I are really considering moving back to Suffolk to save $. If anyone knows any nice, cheap apt. complexes on the south shore that allow cats, let me know!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Yeah to all you teachers and soon to be teachers! I wanted (and still do) to be a teacher. I'd love to go back to school, but it's tough right now with the wedding, and we're not sure where we'll be living after the wedding.
