I was not one of those luck girls to get them 'thrown-in'. I asked once and FH asked about 3 times when we went to negotiate and sign our contract. That's okay tho, b/c we ended up getting them and got a good deal!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

hey where are all the 2005-2006 JT brides. We really need to get this thread going again. Lets have some fun and say what we have gotten done so far. Ok here goes

I have booked
1) hall (obviously)
2) photagrapher
3) videographer
4) DJ
5) Spoke with church and date is ok but still have to meet with priest.
6) Found 'THE DRESS' (still have to order though).

I think I am done for a little while until I speak with the priest. WHEW that doesn't seem like much but looking for the right vendors was hard work
and lots of money

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Ugh! I wish! All I have done is booked the hall (again, obviously) and the church. FH and I have met with the Monsignor 2 times. Other than that, nothing!

I know I have some times, but The next six months I am going to be busting my butt to find all the vendors. I am hoping to have them all booked BY June.

Is that unrealistic?

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I'm so behind on what I have to do!!! School and work puta huge damper on my wedding planning. So far I have:
1) the hall
2)church and pre-cana
3) favors (very odd that this was one of the first things I did)
4) tiara (which I'm not sure if im going to use)

This month we are going to book the dj, limo, and photographer/videographer.

Im going to go dress shopping next month.

Bridesmaids shopping in April or May (had a 'situation' with who is in the bridal party...still not 100% sure)

I feel like there is so much to do and so little time.

What else is there to do????

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Hi ladies I need some help

May be a long story so here goes, my fiance and I have booked coctail our at 8:15 on friday night in the Skylight room(we figured it would give people that work enough time to get there, plus we werent sure if we were gonna have ceremony in church or at JT. So now that we have decided that we are going with the church we have to move up the time to 7:15 I think. Do you think people will have enough time to get to coctail hr. Another thing now is FH really wants the Dome room he loves the open space. So now he wants to change the room because he feels like we are going to have 170 people anyway and thats all we have to guarentee. what do you ladies think I should do.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I think 7:15 start time for CH is good. Most people work until 5pm, and even if they work in Manhattan and live on the island, lets say it takes an hour to get home, then change and drive to JT, I think it should not be a problem.

As for which room....I say go for the Dome Room if it's available, and if you will meet the minimum. We were told the min. is 200, but they dropped it for us to 175. But I know of another JT girl who was given a 150 min. for an afternoon wedding.

Good Luck!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I think 7:15 is fine....you can always make it 7:30 to give people that extra 15 minutes....i was told they open cocktail hour 15 minutes early anyway and there is the waiting room downstairs where your guests can go...

the dome room is beautiful....too small for the amount of guests that I am inviting....if you think you can meet the minimum or at least close to the minimum then go for it....i would do it sooner than later because that is probably the first room to go...

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

It was okay, not really what I expected. There was only a cold display for the cocktail hour, and the dinner itself left a lot to desire. They served surf & turf, and I was expecting a lobster tail, but instead got two small breaded shrimp. Also, they didn't ask you how you wanted your steak cooked. Now I went with one of my best friends, whose sister got married there pretty recently, and she said they did a MUCH better job at weddings. I definitely don't think you JT girls have anything to worry about-- I was just upset b/c I expected a whole lot more than I got for $110.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Which room did they have it in? Were there centerpieces? Candles?

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Not sure what room it was, but it was on the first floor (not upstairs by the dome room). There were no centerpieces of candles, just New Year's favors.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Anything new with any JT brides?

I have met with 2 photographers, 12th Night and SilverFox. Not sure which one we'll use tho! Going to bring FH to them both and let him decide!

I also am starting on the favors, placecards and centerpices (DIY projects) for the engagement party which are in April.
