Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Hey girls.I'm mailing out my save the dates next month, so I was wondering what everyone is doing for OOT guests and hotels. Are you suggesting one or two, and which ones? Also, do you know of any that have a shuttle straight to Jericho Terrace? Thanks!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Hi everyone,I'm new to LIW...just ventured over from theknot...
We're having our reception at Jericho Terrace on July 8, 2006...I'm so glad I found this thread!
We basically looked at JT, signed the contract, and haven't thought of it since. I know our wedding is still over a year away, but did you guys have much contact with them? I know my dad pays the bill every month, and they certainly cash the checks, but I've had no contact whatsoever. Should I be communicating with them at all?
Also, I'm getting started on looking for a florist, and I was wondering who you guys are using.
Thanks!
-Claire

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Claire-Welcome!! The only contact I had (aside from dropping off payments) with JT after contract signing was asking our BM questions (cost of unlim seafood bar at CH, cost of choc ftn, etc). Oh, and meeting with Gina (briefly for a 1st time) and running into them at showcase at JT. From my understanding (as I am also just over a year away) there is not much to do until our days get closer, like 6 weeks I believe!
Again, welcome!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
hi claire and welcome!!!!!!!!!!!! you are getting married the day after my birthday
I know it seems like you are so far off, but as i am sure you have heard, time FLIESSSSSS, especially after the one year marker. I had almost a 2 year engagement and I cant tell you where the time went! I have had pretty much no contact w/ JT, I still send pmts in every month so I am not swamped with a huge pmt a week before
i agree w/ what jill says, i think its more like 6 weeks or so, although I am curious as to when I should set up my tasting, anyone know??besides that, how are the plans going??? as for me i am up to invitations and the ones i FELL IN LOVE WITH are soooooo $$$$$$$$$$. I need to get my butt in gear here!!
Jill did you get my fm with the picture?

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
It's so nice to hear from other JT brides!Living in Boston, everyone has no idea what I'm talking about...especially since weddings here are 'different.'
So far, I have the church (All Saints' Episcopal in Bayside), officiant (my uncle...how convenient), band (bringing them from Boston), photographer (Photo by Verdi), reception site (obviously), and my dress.
The next things on my list are:
florist
invitations/STDs
hotel blocks
A couple of questions for the JT brides:
Did you get any kinds of deals for using the vendors in JT's borchures? I'm making an appointment with Pedestals and Flowers by Brian and am wondering if there's some sort of discount/deal.
Does JT provide the menus for the entrees? If not, did you get menus to match the invitations? If so, does anyone know what they look like?
Where are your hotel blocks? and how the heck do you go about doing this? Do I actually have to meet with someone in the hotel or can I just call? Do I need to give a deposit?
So sorry for the questions, but I am a REALLY dumb bride...I have no clue what I'm doing, and my FH is just as bad...I'll tell him we need to start thinking of florists, and he looks at me blankly...like, 'Oh, do we need flowers?'
Anyway, thanks for your help!!!!
....I just saw that there were some posts from past week on hotels...Sorry!!! I'll try those hotels.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Well Claire, I can give you a few answers...1- as for deals? Meet with Gina (the event coordinator at JT) she will give you the low-down on that. I met with Pedestals, and fell in love. I met with Marcella.
2-Menus? From what I have learned on this thread, JT provides them with the Deluxe Menu. I have the Basic menu, and am still not sure if we'll do menus, if so, I will do them myself.
3-Hotels? I am about to conquer that task in the next month or so. I will call the hotels and determine who has what I am looking for. I would like one that offers a free shuttle. I also am interested in a suite for me to get ready in and for the night of the wedding.
Phew. I tried to address as much as I could from my personal experiences. Don't worry...a few weeks on here and you'll be a wedding wiz!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Claire, a Boston girl!!!I am from Boston originally, and I know that weddings there are 'different'. My parents were floored with JT's cocktail hour. When my mom helped my cousin in Boston plan her wedding, they had to decide how many hors derves to allot everyone to have. Here the cocktails hours are so big! And in Boston you choose your entree when you send back the reply card. Our out of town guests will have such a good time at JT and they will be totally surprised at how they do things in New York! Anyways, just wanted to say hi and congrats. If you ever miss Boston, FM me and we can reminisce about Legal Sea Food and the Aquarium.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Hello Ladies... This is my first posting. Very exciting. I have spent the last week or so going through the thread because I didn't want to miss any important info. You all have already helped me so much and you don't even know it.I had my tasting this past Sunday and have appointment to book this Saturday. I'm so excited I finally got FH to like a place. (it was not easy) But JT is perfect and has everything we both want.
I have been working with Vinny Gallo. Has anyone else worked with him? I haven't seen anything on the thread about him. So far he's been great but the negotiating hasn't started yet.
Thanks for any help you can offer and all the help you've all already given.
Heidi
