Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Ok ladies, so we went for our food tasting on Sat. and let me tell you that it was amazing. The amount of food that they came out with. The presentation and the taste of the food was outstanding. We really couldn't have been happier.

It was 4 of us and they started us first with the antipast. They had olives and prosuitto, peppers and parmesaen cheese. I can't remember everything but it really was great.

While we were eating they they came out with fried foods (cauliflower, zucchini, baked clames, stuffed mushrooms and my personal favorite the mini rice balls).

Then the pasta course came out and it was perfect. I was a marinara sause with penne. Let me just say that I am so picky when it comes to sauce, because nothing is like mom makes but it really was delicious.

Then was the entree which was Chicken Sorrentino. It it a chicken cutlet with three different sauces and has eggplant on top with mozzorella.

Then as if we weren't stuffed enough dessert came out which was straberries, blueberries, orange slices all arranged on a platter with powered sugar and creme brule in a ramakin. Oh my god out of this world!!!

We also had expresso and cappacino and they were also great.

They were so great. Our banquet manager is Mike Closs who was great and we spoke with Rob alot while we were eating. They were so helpful with questions and treated us amazing.
He kept saying if there is anything else we want to try on the menu just ask. He also offered us champange. If I didn't have Mike Closs for a banquet manager I would definitly want Rob. He said he would help us make our favors. I'm sorry it is so long but I really can't get over how everything was so perfect. If you have any questions feel free to FM me.

Yup, that's exactly what we had at our tasting too, and it was sooo delicious. My parents were seeing the hall for the first time, and they were really impressed. We had 6 people at the tasting, and we all had enough to eat.

Hey, quick question, our reception is in the Oak room because we're only having 75-110 people, would you recommend high or low centerpieces in that room? Considering all the murals on the walls, I really want something with candles and flowers, but not to take away from the beauty of the room!!!

Thanks in advance!!

Yup stevejamnik is right! Low is the way to go. The ceiling, chandeliers and murals are a lot to compete with...their beauty stands alone.

I did 3 square low vases...2 small one larger along the table with rose petals and votives...people loved them! I will post pics once I get them...promise!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Hey girls,

Not sure if this has been covered on the thread (couldn't find it, but really didn'tlook that hard since I'm feeling lazy today), but I was wondering if anyone knows how much JT charges for an extra hour. I found out recently that my band is REALLY inexpensive if you want to book an extra hour, and I feel like we might as well take advantage of that.

We're having the earlier evening reception time....CH starts at 6:00, I think...I'm pretty sure the reception goes until 11, so I can't imagine it would be a huge deal to extend it to the extra hour.

Anyway, I hope everyone's doing well....

-Claire

I am curious of this too! Who (aside from band/DJ and Hall) would we have to pay to stay?

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Okay girls, I noticed this was a 'bathroom themed' day of threads, and someone mentioned bathroom baskets. My question is: does JT provide that, or did you make your own? Thanks!

I don't know what they provide, but remember: you'll be sharing a bathroom with another wedding. I wouldn't go too crazy spending money on a basket!

The bathroom attendant they provide has a basket with toiletries, hair spray, etc.

But aren't the weddings on different floors? I am in the Oak room, which is on the bottom level. Aren't there bathrooms for the upper levels as well? Is there another ballroom on the bottom level?

Nope, no other ballroom. You're the only party on that floor and your rest room is right outside the Oak. If anything, peolple from the Skylight may come down to use the rest room...but they mostly do 2 events, not 3 and it's usually Dome or Penthouse (same level) and Oak.
We had the whole floor to ourselves.

Awesome. Actually, I have another question for you. I'm making some flower balls to hang from those gorgeous castle-like doors of the Oak room. Did you have the doors open for the whole reception? If so, then does the outer portion of the doors face inward when they are propped open? Just wondering so I know to make balls for both sides of the door, or just one.

Hi! The doors were closed while ther eception was happening. When they open, they open outward, so away from the room toward the outside...you pull instead of push (hope that makes sense).
