An update: FH and I went to JT about 2 weeks ago to place another installment payment. Our BM said they are installing bars in every room and hope to have it completed in about 3 months. They will also keep the rolling bars along with the bars to be installed.

They also said once the bars are installed it will be name brand soda in it. (When I asked, they actually told me they are currently using some brand of soda I've never heard of!!!)

Fh was saying if that's the case, I'll just bring in bottles of soda myself for the guests, since they might charge us extra to have name brand!!

Hey, that's great news!!! I am so glad about the bars and the soda.

Does anyone know when people usually go to select their menu and do a tasting?

When I went to Jericho about a month ago to 'check-up' on things, I was told to come back in November...I think that is when the 'ball starts rolling'...I'm planning to be on their tails all the time....but I'm doing that to all my vendors....I'm meeting with them more than the required times so that they know me and they know exactly what i want....i know i know...a bit of a bridezilla!

If going there alot makes you a bridezilla, then I am too! We booked the hall in Sept '04 for June '06 and I was there at least 1/month (not to make payments) until about 2 months ago!!

I was told that I can not make any changes to the wedding menu.. is this true?

I wanted to change around the menu a little so that some people will be able to identify with some of the food but.... the BM said no.

About the menu, I had the 'Wedding' menu not the deluxe and I was able to change a few things around...speak to Mike Closs (or your BM) you should be able to customize it. It's your wedding, the little touches are what makes it uniquely yours - remember you're paying them, they're not doing you a favor!

Yes, you can I was helping out a bride last April we made changes one week before because she wanted more choices for West Indians

You can definitely make changes!!!

I don't know what menu you picked, maybe if it's the basic menu you aren't allowed as many changes, but we have the deluxe menu, and our BM said that if we want to change anything on the menu we can!! (IE instead of Chicken Scarpiello to have Chicken Parmagiana or Chicken Francaise, etc.)

I would check with another BM because you're the one paying for it, therefore you should get what you want!!

You can definitely make changes to the menu because we're substituting some items for west indian food. And I also was told that the & get to have anything for their main entree up to a sampler of all the entree choices on your menu.

Go back up there and tell him you're not happy with some of the choices and you want to change it. If not deal with another BM. The first time we went there a wedding was taking place and they brought us food from the cocktail hour and there was west indian food on one plate.

Congrats and welcome! I too am in the Dome Room. My FH is the one who picked that room and is SO content, he doesn't even care about the minimum!!
