Josie- FI was born in El Salvador but we are not doing the coins or the laso. What else are you doing? We are keeping it simple. Short ceremony at the reception place.

P&A- Oh my gosh, I was totally joking but if you are serious then I will call him and tell him my cousin is also getting married and we want a good price (hhmmmm, maybe that won't work if he doesn't see me at your wedding, LOL!!!!!) I'll say my friend. I'll call him tonight or tmrw.

Patty --My MC is going to be Edwin (Izzy's best friend), we saw a video of his work & my Fh & I said thats exactly the type of MC we want--energetic, fun & bilingual..Edwin also MC'd at one of my friend's weddings & did a great job..Thanks again for referring me to Izzy, even though he wasn't available on my day he helped me out a lot..

Curly--FH's aunt says I have to find 13 pennies from this year! I guess I'll have to go to the bank..
I'm still not sure what else we're doing, but FH had an idea (if its in the budget) of getting a spanish guitarist to play during the ****tail hour, kind of like the Gypsy King music which we both like or maybe having either some Flamenco or Salsa dancers perform during the reception..we'll see...

What about you? What are you doing for favors?

For favors I am doing a donation scroll to the American Diabetes Association. (Dad has Diabetes), attached to a box of Godiva chocolates (hopefully).

I was thinking of having the guitarist or salsa dnacers too but they are way to expensive. I threw my Mom's 50th B-day party at the Westbury manor in December and I hired Tango dancers. They were a huge hit with the guests but it was alot of $$. I won't be doing that for the wedding

Curly--Tango dancers would be cool, but you are right the wedding is already expensive imagine adding more $$ to it I think I'm just going to keep it simple besides I trust the MC & DJ will make sure everyone is having a good time & I plan to give them a good song list...

That is so nice of you to give a donation, I'm still not sure what I'll be giving...

So what did you think of the Westbury Manor for your mom's party?? Thats where I am getting married..

Josie- i didn't even read your profile to see you were getting married there. It was FABULOUS!!!!!! The food and service were great. I had a small affair (40-50 people) so we had the sun room. It is the glass room where most cocktail hours are held. The party was in December and they had all the Christmas lights up. It looked BEAUTIFUL!!! The only reason I am not getting married there is because I had my Mom's B-day there. FI and I even go for dinner there. We love the table next to the piano by the bar. You should definitely try to go to dinner one night. WE LOVE IT!!!!!! If you have any specific questions you can always FM me.

Copa- I would love the trio info. That would great!! Thanks!! I'm trying to get a good price here by booking mine and P&A's wedding, LOL!!!!

I didn't even know this thread existed. I too am a Latin born, 100% Cuban. This is a great idea!

I've been trying to gather a good song list for my DJ but my mom & i are so bad with names, we weren't doing to good. Now thanks to you ladies I have a pretty good list

I also love the idea of a spanish poem or quote in the program.

I just found out my DJ's MC doesn't speak Spanish. Can't use him for the wedding now.

Re: Trio. His name is Victor Manuel and is located in the Bronx. The tel. number is 718-620-4382. I saw him a el Museo del Barrio's SalsaFest where he was the 'lectureer/performer' of the trio presentation and the group was amazing. Classic. Hope that helps.
