OK Ladies I am writing up my spanish song list for my dj for the eparty and need some help.

I am looking for those oldie songs that when everyone hears them (old and young folks) people jump to the dance floor! Looking for merengue and salsa only. I don't like bachata and my family isn't into tango. FH and I love spanish reggae and spanish rock so I have those already. I am just REALLY bad with song names and band names.

Also there is this instrumental that was being played a while back a lot on 93.1. I don't know the name of it but it started low then the crescendo kept building and as it got louder more instruments were added. I know this sounds stupid I just can't think of it. I want to have it played while people are eating. It is really long too. HELP!!

They performed at a Colombian Gala in Westbury but when I called them they told me they lived in the Hamptons. They travel everywhere.

Curly- No, haven't called yet...but it's on my to-do list! That along with....programs, cones for petals, shoes and underwear for me, favors, and the votive place card thingies! I have soooo much to do!

Bird the band we are having for our wedding is Ecuadorian but they don't do weddings. My mom knows them from the Ecuadorian Committee (She is on the board). They always hire the band to do parties.

I will ask my mom for you on the trios.

I'm a Latina newlywed. I'm sorry we didn't have this post before I could have used the help with the songs.

I was born in the U.S. but both my parents are from El Salvador. I had an English only ceremony but my DJ did the introductions at the reception in both English & Spanish. He translated a lot of stuff he was really good. I had merengue, salsa and cumbia too. I also had a lot of latin 'disco' like Suavemente and Boriqua Anthem. It was a big hit.

Hola Chicas!

I am a fellow latina as well, born in NYC, my parents are Dominican, My FH also born here & his parents are from El Salvador..so its a caribbean & central american mix

We are using Body Rock & they have a Latin MC & DJ that will put on a good mix of music to satisfy us & our guests... I am also trying to think of other ways to incorporate our heritage... My FH's aunt is going to make us the 'laso' which is supposed to be wrapped around the couple during the ceremony & we are also planning to hold 13 coins 'aras' & have them blessed. This is cool because Dominicans don't really do this so I'm glad his family is helping us out with it...

Its good to see other Latina brides on this board--
