Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Does anyone remember or know what WM puts out of the tables during CH???

Also for any past brides that had their CH inside - how were the tables set up?

A few friends attended a wedding there in the winter and they said they had the tables set like a cafteria - long way one after another and that it made it very difficult to get in and out of your seat...

Canoli sounds yummy. And I absolutely love carrot cake with cream cheese frosting! Was it extra to get the cream cheese frosting? I'm sure my FH will want something mocha or chocolate though. I can't wait to pick it out on Monday!

We had some potted flowering plants. WM suppliled them (maybe the house florist)

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Good Morning ladies,

First of all, I must say you are ALL so helpful! You've helped me so much in my planning and for that I thank you.

My question today is: What should I expect from my meeting with WM when I choose my menu. I am meeting with them tonight and I want to know if there is anything I should expect or ask?

Unfortunately, I am dealing with a new BM. The BM I booked with Jennifer, is no longer there. I was disappointed especially because I did not know until I decided to call her and ask her a question.

Anyway, does anyone have any tips?

Plan on what type of cake you want - square, circle, stacked, tiered. What flavors, fillings, etc.

Plan on what linens you want.... (we did Ivory with burgandy sashes)

Plan on planning your mouth watering menu!

You'll get your paperwork with seating charts, drop off instructions, etc.

Normally when you plan your menu you meet with someone other than your BM, but I do understand what you mean by not being notified about a change.
We originally booked with Gennaro back in 2004. Long story short we found out he had left, but not by them...we were orphans in the BM dept. BUT...great news...Jerry adopted us.

I LOVE carrot cake...but I think its more of a fall type of cake than summer...plus my FH got pouty when I asked him and is dying for chocolate. I called Erga's to find out how late they are open til so I can get some samples after my appt with westbury and to see if they offer chocolate ganache as a frosting. My girls are wearing brown and carrying pink bouquets, so i think a choco cake with pink flowers might be nice. I bet its going to be a zillion dollars more though.

not meeting minimum

If you do not meet your minimum do they give you anything extra to make up for the money that you are losing?

Totally understand what you mean by being a fall cake...we chose it for that reason too...and besides I LOVE it!

Definitely talk to Erga...the woman there is a sweetheart! I can only imagine how gorgeous your cake would be...(and DELICIOUS!)
