Hey girls, just wanted to let you know that you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about with WM. They exceeded all our expectations by far. I haven't started to write my review yet, but everything was absolutely perfect. All of our guests loved the grounds, the food, everything.
Steve was our maitre'd and Lupita was the bridal attendant, they were both outstanding, I can't even use the words to describe how happy we are that we chose them. We knew from the moment we walked in there a year and a half ago it was the place, and never had a moment of regret.
I can't wait to read your review. . . congratulations again!!
Where did you guys go on your honeymoon??

THanks!! I will start writing my review this week. We went to Costa Rica, which was also awesome. It was the best two weeks EVER - the wedding, the honeymoon - like a dream come true!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Oooh! Costa Rica. . . I love hearing that people are going/have gone on different kinds of honeymoons. We are going to Portugal and 75% of the people we tell say something like 'Portugal?! Why Portugal??' It makes me feel kinda sad
I mean. . . it's different and maybe one of a kind for us. . . when else will I choose to go to Portugal. . . so why not? We thought about doing something in Central/South America. . . but we went to Mexico last September so we really wanted somewhere a little different. . . so we looked toward Europe. . . and thought 'Why not Portugal?' I think it's going to be great. . . maybe even as great as Costa Rica

Wow, Portugal is so original! Thats awesome, I am sure you will have a great time there!!! I had the same feeling, that I didn't want to go to one of the typical honeymoon destinations. We originally thinking of St. Lucia, but then found out about Costa Rica, and we are so happy we made that choice!!Your wedding is so close, are you getting excited?

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Hi ladies. . .Just looking for a little reassurance. . . I hope. . .
It's official. We are 31 below our minimum. . . (no, there's no one else to invite. . yes, that number includes children. . . and if we count the vendors we are 23 below) Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, what was WM's response? I spoke with them last night regarding this and I was very disappointed when it seemed that they were kind of nonchalant and unsympathetic about it. They basically just said, 'Oh, that's a shame'. I understand that they can't reduce the price and I accept that completely. . . but am I wrong to hope for something to make us feel better about losing over $2000? I mean they didn't offer us the meals, extras or anything. They just said please bring your certified check for X dollars on Wednesday. Oh, and to top it off. . . we had added extras at our menu planning meeting (before we realized we wouldn't make our minimum) that added $8 per person. . . which they also calculated based on the minimum . . .and when I asked about removing them. . . they responded with, 'well, we can do this for you, we'll charge you only for the number of people who are actually coming' . Um. . . that's only saving me about $248 while I am still having to pay an additional $552. . . and one of the extras is an alcohol extra that 1/3 won't even enjoy.
I really just feel kind of disappointed. . . I mean, in one sense we already had that money (the minimum amount) spent in our minds. . . so it's okay. . . but in another sense. . . that's a ton of money spent on nothing. . . what do I do? What should I say to them? Can I say something? What do you all think?
My wedding is a week from today and while I am sure it will be beautiful. . . I still want to cry.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated . . . TIA

WOW! Can you talk to your BM? or the MD'...kinda Explain that if you are paying that amount the MD will also lose out on money too? I would meet with jerry if your BM does not help.....good Luck

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
hey, im sorry to hear that...it was actually a concern of mine as well to not meet my minimum...and now i have the exact opposite problem..we had to guarentee 150..and thought wed only be intiving 175...our guest list is up to 240...so i asked if i could higher the guarentee and lower the price and they said no..did you ask if maybe you can have something in place of the people who arent coming? i mean youre paying 2 or 3 thousand extra...can they give you a viennese if you dont already have one? can they give you a seafood thing at the CH?...maybe something? who is your banquet manager?...if he/she cant help you..maybe you could speak to JERRY himself?give it a try ya never know...either way..itll be gorgeous!! but i do understand how upset youd be..i would be too..

We were under our minimum as well - not as much as you, but they took care of us at the final meeting when we brought the money. They acted the same way when we orginally called and told them we weren't going to make the min. and I was upset like you. But at the final meeting, they made everything great - they gave us an upgrade in the amt of money for the number under the minimum. Don't worry!!

At my wedding it was just that bar but barely anyone had to get up and get their own drink...the waitstaff was that good
