I am really bummed about thisbecause we are in the manor room and itsgoing to look so empty. They say that the tables in there seat 12-14 and most of our tables will have around 10. If we don't do it that way we would only have 8 or 9 tables which I think is worse than having less people at the tables.
Is it all going to look horribly empty?

I had the same worries - I had 138 in the Manor Room and it did not feel empty at all. I received alot of compliments on how uncrowded it was and how it was so nice to be able to walk around between tables and not be on top of other people. I had 14 tables and had different amounts of people at each table. Don't worry, it will be beautiful!

Like I mentioned in the previous post I have a meeting with Kelly next week......is this when we find out who our Maitr D' is? Should I recommend one?

Yes, they will tell you who your maitre'd is at the meeting. It will depend on who is working that day and if they have been already requested by another party. We were supposed to have Raul but then were told we would have Lorena. Lorena was Wonderful! I have read great things about Raul and we met him-he is so nice. Those are the only two I know of.

They didn't tell us at the menu meeting, they told us we wouldn't find out until the day of.

Believe it or not this was the thread that made me join LIW!!!
It's such a great thread...it's interesting to see how much has changed since it originally started and to see all the beautiful pics!

Lorena is awesome! She was our MD also. She is the sweetest and she really knew how to calm me down. I found that all of the staff at WM was very accomodating to me and my guests, but she really stood out. We could not stop thanking her and Laura, my bridal attendant, as we were leaving.

We didn't find out at the menu meeting. We found out at the meeting after that, when you drop your favors and decorations off.

I was the MOH at a wedding there this past weekend and I wanted to let you know how fantastic everything was. The food was phenomenal and the place was so beautiful despite the rain.

One thing to note, the wedding was in the afternoon and they wanted to kick the bride out of the bridal suite at the end of the wedding and started to bring all the stuff in the suite downstairs to the reception about 30 minutes before the end of the reception. She needed to change out of her dress, and so I had to 'hold the room' to prevent the staff from removing all her things from the room and to let her change. So, about 30 minutes before the end of the wedding you may need to designate someone to go to the bridal suite if you need to change and they need the suite for another bridal party.

I will say that the staff there was wonderful and the wedding was great.

They told us at our final meeting..a few days before the wedding. We had Raoul and Inez.. they were both incredible and I don't know what we woudl have done without them!

For the menu appt. you don't meet with your BM.

I *think* they are ivory, burgundy and gold. You can chose one color with accents of another color. I chose ivory linens with burgundy accents:

Last night I met with Kelly and finalized the menu, cake, and linens:

We chose the gold linen on ivory and the ivory chair covers with gold sash.
The cake filling is white chocolate with banana and strawberry’s with chocolate devil cake.

The grounds were beautiful. They planted thousands and thousands of tulips. They are also in the process of putting down a new dance floor in the manor room. Yeah!

Is it going to look the same as the old one, I loved the old one thats part of the reason we fell in love with the place.

Oh they have gold sashes for the chairs??? Thats awesome!!!!!!!! I wonder if you could put the white overlay linen on top of the gold...thats the exact look I was envisioning...
