Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Well, they quoted me $80 for all 4 weekends in November which aren't booked yet, so I don't think the holiday had anything to do with the quote. Is there a lot of room for negotiating? I've never done this before so I'm clueless...

Even so, that's what they charged me 2 years ago and by the time you get married it will be 3 1/2 years since I paid that much - so I don't think you're getting a bad price at all. They threw in a free ice sculpture for us, the chocolate fountain was a brand new and unique when I got married. I don't know about negotiating, I hated that part of planning.

Hi All, So I was quoted at $80 pp for Nov. 24, 2007 (saturday afternoon). Is this high for that time of the year? I just want to make sure that I'm not being taken for a fool or somethingTIA
yes, that is high. i had a saturday daytime this past july and it was $70pp. and summer is peak season while november is not. you need to bargain with them.
what would be your minimum?

OMG, you paid 70/pp during peak season? Did you get anything like wine bottles at every table and chair covers? How many hot stations did you get? When did you book?
I'm paying more in early Oct! Hmmmm....
Ice sculpture is an add-on? I thought i was part of the package?

I don't know the calendar for next year, but isn't Nov 24th right around Thanskgiving? Isn't that a Holiday weekend? Is that why the price is like that?edited for spelling

You're having a ceremony at 2:30? that's quite unusual since they start at 11:30-1pm for afternoon wedddings. How long is your entire wedding? Is yours the only one happening that day in taht room? If so maybe that's why they charge you more?
What's your package like, if you dont mind me asking, you can FM me if you like. What package you get also affects your price. I can see your price being that much if you add lotsa goodies into the package - seafood boat is like an extra $15/pp! :)

The price isn't affected due to it being Thanksgiving weekend b/c we were quoted the same price for 6 different weekends, our minimum being 100 people.

They told me to bring a list of the vendors we're using... I'm seeing them in two weeks and my wedding is a week before yours?!?
When did you get the call?
Oh and dont forget to finalize your menu choices! :)
