Official Atlantica Thread
Okay-so there aren't too many of us, but still we seem to be gaining some ground. I know when I first got on here there were almost no other Atlantica brides and it was a little discouraging. So-I thought we should give this a try.I have my tasting this weekend! My wedding is not until April but they are closing for renovations until sometime late Feb/early March so we have to do it now.
Also, I'm not sure if anyone else heard yet; they are planning an 'open house' event for all couples booked for '06. The event is supposed to take place in March and we'll get to taste everything again. They are sending out a mailing soon.

I am an Atlantica bride!! I am not getting married until '07 so you will have to post a review after your wedding. Are you having your ceremony there?

Yup-I am having my ceremony on the deck and I can't wait.
I took a ride out a couple weeks ago to see them setting up for another wedding and to get ideas for centerpieces. I don't know what to do. The person's wedding I saw being setup had candle centerpieces. They were pretty but I want flowers for sure-just not sure what type of arrangement. Any ideas? The place is so different from other halls, it's hard to figure out. I saw lovely apple blossom arrangements in their books, but it won't work with my color scheme.
And don't worry; will definitely post a review after my wedding. I always look forward to those!

I would do a tasting anyway. They allow up to 6 people total to come and they run it like a sit down dinner so you get a really good idea of what your guests will experience. Plus, you get to talk about the different selections with your BM.
I'll post how mine went on Sunday or Monday.

Thanks! I am being such a PIA they must hate me over there lol! I am really torn about cps too! Its so hard because it really isnt like other halls. I think I am just going to do like 6 calla lillies in a vase with some candles around it and call it a day. I dont think people pay much attentiont to the cps at Atlantica weddings...there are so many other things to look at.

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
I am so excited to get this thread going. I am getting married at a church and having my reception there, so we are having the deck for our cocktail hour.I am actually doing low centerpeices with hydranga and garden roses. I don't want to take away from the views with high centerpieces. We are doing the full beach theme, since the wedding is in July. My florist said that Atlantica looks great with lots of color, because everything is so white.
Good to know about the open house. That will be right around the time for our tasting.
Have far in advance should you do a tasting?

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
Now, I kinda wish we were having it at a church, but when we first started planning I thought it would be easier for out of town guest etc. if we had it at the site. Oh well, can't change that now really. We are doing our tasting now only because of their renovations and the open house. Otherwise, we probably would have waited until the 2 or 3 month mark. However we aren't getting married in 'high' season, so we have a little more flexibility.

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
I went for my tasting last night. It was awesome. Fi and I brought our parents and we got to sample 6 choices of every course family style. The food was great, but more so the experience was wonderful. It's just done so nicely. You get a chance to really talk over what you want for your day.The open house event in March 25th-Kristy said 2006 brides will be getting e-vites this weekend. I haven't check my email yet so I don't know if I got it yet.
Anyway, we had a great time. This was the first time my soon to be in laws saw the place; they loved it!
Oh, we got to meet Todd Jacobs-so nice!

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
We are getting married at St. Rosalie's. This has been my church my entire life. I made all my sacrements here, so I wanted to get married there as well. It is also about 1 minute from my parents house so no worries about being late. Thanks so much for the open house info and the tasting info. I can't wait for it!
Was it overwhelming with six people at the tasting and everyone having different opions? When we took my future in laws and my parents there for brunch I was so overwhelmed. My mom started announcing the menu (that we hadn't tried) and my future MIL disagreed with everything she said. I was thinking that the 2 of us would just go back or maybe invite by brother and his sister or some of the wedding party.

wow...that is great that they are having an open house in March. Very cool..especially since we have not had all that much communication w/ them since booking (wedding is 9/06). Thanks for getting this thread going...very helpful.Lablab -- did you get to go over a lot of the details for the day or mainly just food choices.

We were able to go over both menu choices and other choices for the day. For example; they ask you questions about your favors (do you want them at the tables, at a separate table, or delivered with dessert), if you are having your ceremony there are you doing a receiving line or not, do you want to pay for drinks for any early birds (they offer ice tea and water gratis, but you have to decide if you want to run a tab before the ceremony for liquor), are you doing introductions of the BP into the reception, etc. Lots of little stuff-some I thought about and some I hadn't considered yet. Also, they ask 'is there anything that you want to make sure happens at your wedding or anything you want to make sure doesn't happen'.
We actually did really well. Normally, I get frustrated with everyone else butting in; however they give you cocktails with dinner so that eased the tension!

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
When you did your tasting did anything come up that you hadn't thought of?Also, did they tell you to put 1/2 hour earlier on the invites than the reception is really starting. I understand this if I was having my ceremony there, but everyone will be coming from my church so I don't think that they'll be late.
