where are you blocking rooms? I want to send the info out soon, but they are all so expensive. I feel awful having family come from out of state and having to spend so much

I Went back an forth on a few different places-but because our wedding is off season most of the b&b's out there aren't open. Most of my family and his are Marriott people so we ultimately decided to block rooms at the Courtyard in Ronkonkoma. We hired a bus to shuttle guests.
Since my family lives near Holbrook, this works out for us in that we'll be able to spend time with both of our families the entire weekend.
The rate we are getting is $109/night. We are also getting our suite for free for 3 nights.

if any of you have done your invitations yet, are you putting the hall asAtlantica
or Atlantica at the Westhampton Bath and Tennis club.
Your input would be appreciated.

We blocked rooms at the Best Western and the Holiday Inn. And a bunch of our family members are staying at teh Bowens by the Bays cottages in Hampton Bays because my family lives there. The Inn at Quogue is an option, but it was too expensive for us and required a 10% deposit from us.

I put Atlantica on the invitation and on the direction card I added 'Atlantica is located within the Westhamptaon Bath and Tennis Hotel'.

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
Is anyone else renting a house for the weekend? My parents house is kind of small so we are getting something out there that we can all get ready in and then my parents, and other family will stay there the night of the wedding. It is worth checking out if you are off season!

Hi Atlantica Brides!!! I'm not planning my wedding (maybe soon though! ). My sister got married this past summer at Gurney's...and so it's been in the back of my head that I would probably go with Atlantica when it's my turn...I was just wondering if you had anything planned for after the wedding...like if the wedding is from 5-10, are you going anywhere afterwards, are your guests going anywhere? is there a bar at the hotel?

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
We are actually renting the downstairs bar at the Atlantica for the after party. You can also pay to keep the bar open at the Best Western if most of your guests are staying there.

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
Not yet-but I have an email into Kristy and Lisa about something else so I'll ask them about this as well. Last I heard is was to be 3/25 and all booked brides would be sent an evite or invitation.

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
I spoke to Kristy earlier today and she said that they are definetly having the tasting on March 25. They are having all cakes, horsdourves, and the cocktail hour stations. They just haven't sent the invites out yet. Hope this helps.Did anyone order any beachy invites? If so where did you find them. I have found a bunch but I want something classy at the same time, and haven't come across too many like this.

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
We are still up in the air about stations; we'll see. I haven't gotten an official invitation to the 3/35 event yet either. Is anyone doing the chocolate fountain or platters of pastries during dessert? If so, we you able to negotiate price? I may want to add them on but I don't know how much wiggle room I have...

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
I really want to do the Chocolate fountain! because we arent doing stations at ch we have credit, so we are probably going to do the coc. fountain, and intermezzo in exchange for the stations

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
Hi ladies! I'm an Atlantica bride too:) I haven't heard anything about the open house on 3/25. Do you think that the open house will count as the actual tasting or will we still be able to schedule one separately?BTW, we're getting the Chocolate Fountain, but in retrospect, I wish we would have arranged for an additional station at cocktail hour instead. I'm afraid of getting chocolate on my gown (I'm always spilling food on me)!
ETA: Should've proofread!

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
Nope-you get to have a tasting too. The open house event just allows you to try more hors d'oeuvres and desserts!ETA: Congratulations and welcome!

Re: Official Atlantica Thread
FYI, I just received an email from Kristy regarding the open house. She said that it's scheduled for March 24th (a Friday?). She's away, but I asked her to send me more details! I hope that its on that Saturday, otherwise I don't think I can make it
ETA: Kristy just wrote back ans said it was a typo - she meant the 25th, whew!
