Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

Hi Everyone,

Please please please DO NOT take me the wrong way but I'm at a lose of ideas and was looking for some help..

I am having 3 bridemaids and 1 batron of honor in my wedding. Everyone has a reasonable body type but one.. One of my brides maids is 4'11 and alittle over 250 lbs.. I want to be able to use either a Violet or purple or even garden rose color for their dresses.. Would anyone have a suggestion on colors, dress types that would be flattering to her??

Thanks in advance.. Im just fresh out of ideas..

Dawn

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

Maybe a lighter shade of one of the colors you are using. Always go with an A-line, this works very well with all body types. A-line is your best bet.

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

I think a dark color would be best....if you go purple i would go eggplant or indigo, not a lavender.

Also something with sleeves... not necessarily sleeves that go down your arm, but spaghetti like straps that are THICK. i would stay away from strapless. Also, halter tops can look nice on people that are heavy.... also, i would stay away from tea length or cocktail length.

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

I am short also and my chest is on the above average side I would lose a few pounds SO...IMO I would not like to wear strapless. I would rather some sort of strap...also a darker color maybe in an A line dress. I wore a light purple satin dress and it showed all the imperfections...but it was a pretty dress. Good Luck!!

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

I would definitely stay away from satin, that is unforgiving on everyone. I wouldn't do strapless either. A-line or empire waists can hide a lot of flaws as well.

I agree that a dark color would be more flattering and I've always read that a-line is the most flattering for all body types

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

I would 100% go with a dark color. A lighter color might make her uncomfortable

Also, no strapless and defiantly an A-Line - Nothing straight and clingy.

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

try chiffon material in a darker shade....chiffon is very loose and doesn't conform to your body, I think its very flattering on all body types. good luck!

Dark color, a line is always flattering. Maybe you could pick a two piece dress. Each bridesmaid could pick out a top and bottom that flattered their figure.

i have the same kind of issue...i got a two piece v-neck a-line dress, the color is kind of bright but its beautiful and it flatters everyone of my bm's.

that is exactly what I did...all the girls have the same A-line bottom but picked a different top. They are all vastly different body types~

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

I would go for a dark color dress that is 2 pieces. they tend to fit better and stay away from strapless. Or, if you want strapless she can get a matching shawl (i forgot what they call them)

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

Go with a darker color because it is slimming try an a-line dress. Alfred Angelo makes nice dresses for all sizes and so does Bill Levkoff. Maybe go with a two piece top and bottom.

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

A- Line is very flattering.. Also, try the two piece mix and match approach.. Nothing is more flattering than feeling comfortable in what you are wearing.. She may like the idea of having different options.. HTH

Re: Kind of harsh but I could use some ideas

Definitely stay away from strapless, it can make even thin girls look heave and a dark shade to slim her.
