how did you pick your wedding date?

inspired by another thread, i was wondering how/why everyone picked the dates they did?

We chose it for a few reasons:

FH is a teacher (summers off)
FH likes warm weather
holiday weekend meant an extra day off for me

Plus our current anniversary is in December along with my sister's birthday, Christmas, FH's birthday and then my birthday is in January - too many presents to buy in one shot! We wanted to separate it a little bit.

We chose March for 3 reasons.

1. Its the week of FH's Birthday
2. Its also the birthday of a mutual best friend of ours whose passing in 2002 is what actually caused us to re-connect. We wanted to honor him.
3. For financial reasons it made more sense to have the wedding during an 'off month' when the reception hall prices arent off the wall expensive.

We wanted late summer because my job is too crazy earlier in the summer. The RH had a few dates in August and a few dates in September so we went w the first date they had in September.

We picked it because of the holiday weekend, we really wanted a saturday, and financially it gave us enough time to save up some $

I actually choose January for a very important reason my mothers birthday was on the 26th she passed away 12 years ago from cancer...the 26th would have been her 60th birthday so i hope she is celebrating with us in Heaven

We already have 2 anniversaries in November (the 22 when we started dated, and the 9 when we got married in city hall) so i thought it would be funny and a little cute if we had 2 in February (the 14 we got engaged and on the 17 we are gonna get married in the church)

We wanted a wedding on the water and summer is the best time for that!

July 26th was right in the middle of the summer. So it will give me a month after school gets out and a month until we go back to school to go on HM and then recover from everything!

it was thee only date availab le at the mansion since we booked so close to the date.

We needed a summer date and we wanted it late into the summer, so that it hopefully won't be too late and also still early enough were FSIL is still around before going back to college

We figured it was a holiday and every anniversary we celebrated would be with a bang!!! LOL!!

we are both teachers so we wanted a summer wedding so we had off....

We are both teachers and we are off for a week in February. Also, the RH prices are cheaper.

it was a litle cheaper...and i love winter more than anything..i cna not imagine being hot on my wedding day..id be pissed off..lol..
and we met in feb..i just like eerything about it

The end of September is our favorite time of year. It's when the oppressive heat of the summer has finally lifted and the weather tends to be perfect. I love it :)

2 reasons:
#1: as a teacher, i wanted it as soon as school ended but not 4th of july weekend.
#2: we both love the weather in june

well im a teacher so 1. i needed summer, 2. we wanted a sunday twilight since sundays are cheaper and we wanted the view of the water AND the nighttime 3. august 10th was the only summer twilight left in the summer
