yes!! he called my parents the night before and asked my dad. the next morning he proposed and my parents were sitting by the phone waiting for my call!

My parents are divorced, so DH called both my mom and my dad separately to ask. It's cute b/c he already had the ring, and we'd already lived together for a year!

No he didnt though I did ask him to. But in the end, he told me he didnt know what to say.

But he does wish he had now.

Yes, he asked both of my parents for their permission. It meant alot to them that my FH respected them enough to want their approval. I thought it was so sweet too. I can just imagine how nervous he must have been!

Mine did...

He tried to get in touch with my dad for 2 weeks (Dad travels...) and almost did not get to him in time. By the time he got a hold of him, my dad already knew what he wanted to ask him... but made him ask anyway :)

My Fiance went shopping with my mom for my ring but asked my dad the day after he asked. (my parents are divorced)

Sort off- after he had already bought the ring. He went to ask my parents, but only my mom was home, so she called my dad as he was on his way to propose (he just couldn't wait!!!)

My father really isn't involved in my life...so he asked my brother (who will be walking me down the aisle!!!) My brother and I were so touched...my FH knows how much I respect my brother and now I know he does too!

He didn't really ask; he just called my dad to let him know what his plans were. FH said he spent about 3 hours pacing the apt. before he had the courage to finally call!! He was so nervous!!

Yes he did. This is how he proposed. quick story... My FH traveled into the city where my dad worked around 6:30 p.m. to ask him. he told me he was going to meet a friend for drinks. Long story short, his friend calls the house, FROM ALBANY!!! So I know he lied and I am fuming. He doesnt call me until 11:00 p.m. I ask him who is he is with and he tells me he is with his friend who called from Albany.

So i hang up the phone. He comes in about 11:45 ish and I am mad to the point i wont speak. I asked him where he was, he stuck to story and then I called him on it and told him his friend that he was 'with' called from Albany.. So he goes into the bedroom come back out a min later and proceeds to tell me he was with my dad and asked him for my hand in marriage. My dad was so happy that they 'celebrated' with a few cocktails and my FH missed the train!!!! After the story he got down on one knee and while I was in my pajama grading papers, asked me to marry him. If he would have made the train, he wouldve been home intime beofre his friend had called. Its the running joke in my family.. If only he made that train!!!
