Thank you marcela! I talked to Zavola - he seemed really cool - if you can FM me prices so I know. Also, I talked to the banquet managers at Cavo and they seemed really flexible with everything. I'll let you all know when I meet with them - probably next week some time.

Re: Greek Brides??
I am SO happy I found this!Hi girls! I am new to the boards and looking for help. A little on me...I got engaged on 12/14/02 and we are getting married on 5/15/04. The church is Archangel Michael in Roslyn at the Woodbury Country Club. Brian (my fiance) is Italian, and he will be converting. It's a long story, but he was not baptized as a baby so we figured since my whole family's Greek and I was raised in the Orthodox church, rather than introduce a new religion he'd convert.
Brian was away on vacation for 2 weeks, so this past weekend my mom and I did a lot of running around--preliminary work--while he was gone. We packed in alot this past weekend. I tried on some gowns for the first time, it was so much fun. I can't wait to go again. I really like a Rena Koh dress I tried on at Adrienne's in Islip. I found that place only b/c we went to look at a photographer out there. Great couple, beautiful work the only thing is they are 100% digital and I just don't know how I feel about that. Anyway, do any of you have any advice/experience on Adrienne's? The place is lovely, just looking for some thoughts.
Next, photographers. UGH! As I said, I really LOVED this couple, but I'm not sure about all digital. I don't like digital to use for my own pics so I really don't think I can do it for our wedding. I personally know three girls who've used B rett M atthews and have heard about so many others who've used them as well. My brother and sil used Cassarino (they got married 7 yrs ago). I went to JoVon, it was okay. The woman I met with kept looking at someone who was behind the couch where my mom and I were sitting, so I found that very aggravating--she seemed so preoccupied with what was going on behind me...
For pics, we have a few requirements...
#1--negatives, that's just something I'm sticking to, I can't pay all of that money and not get them.
#2--I like the two photographer idea. One for the more traditional shots and one with the candid and photojournalistic shots.
#3--a photog who's done a greek wedding. with all of the symbolism during the ceremony and i really want someone who recognizes how important a lot of pics at the ceremony is.
The thought of a husband and wife team really appeals to me. I would like to find someone Brian and I are both comfortable with since we'll be spending so much time with him/her. Do you girls have any thoughts/suggestions on who to meet with? I feel as if photographers based in Nassau County know good spots for pics in Nassau better than someone who shoots primarily in Suffolk. Am I being ridiculous or do you girls agree? Should I stick with someone from Nassau--I live in Manhasset, the church is in Roslyn).
Thanks so much in advance for all of your help. From the posts I've read so far, you all sound wonderful. Congratulations and Best of Luck to you all!!!

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi beachbum....congrats and welcome to the boards. I used Cassarinos for my wedding. I did both the traditional and candid shots as well. I loved my photos but to be honest I was not happy with their service after the wedding. I can fm my complaints to you if you want. Many girls on this site recommend Wild Rose for photography. You might want to check them out.I wish you all the best and happy planning.
