We are getting married on 5/28/07 at Glen Island Habour Club. After much searching, this place was the best deal for what we wanted. And i agree for looking into holiday weekends, we got close to 30$pp off their regular Sunday price for getting married on Memorial Day. Not only that, they are giving us the use of the room we prob wouldnt get bec they usually require more pple to use it.

Hey Everyone! This is my first post :)
I was wondering about a couple of places if any of you have went to visit yet or have been to a wedding there?
Could you share your review? Prices?
Jericho Terrace?
DeServersky?
I called DeSeversky and loved the place online, but they said the max capacity was something like 150 for the place and in order to do any more, you would need to do a mansion style wedding, which is not assigned seating.. Does anyone know anything about this?
Any other suggestions on LI, that are not too pricey but have that mansion-esque feel to it?
Thanks Ladies, Look forward to chatting more.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
New here....but don't want to officially introduce myself until the actual proposal happens (it's happening soon but I'm a crazy pre-planner - watch, he'll keep me waiting even longer just to drive me crazy!). I actually feel so silly posting before it's official, but hell, we went ring shopping!I have a few questions about prices...I'm in love with Chateau La Mer and Fox Hollow. What would you suppose I'd be quoted for a Friday night in mid-August? (No way can I afford a Sat night and I don't want a day wedding) From what I've seen so far on this thread, it should be around $85-something for Chateau...my eyes are too tired to keep looking for Fox Hollow hahaha so I hope you don't mind letting me know.
I'm thinking my minimum could be around 120...lucky us, small guest list! That would mean the smaller rooms...so I guess that's the upstairs room at CLM and the Winter Garden at FH. This might seem like a really naive question- any chance they'd price you less per person if you have a smaller wedding? HAHA!
I'm still trying to understand the + tax and gratuity thing. How do I figure that once I get price per person?
I appreciate your help!!

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
I cant help u with prices pp for those places but the taxes/gratuities work like this:If it's $85pp and u have 120 that is $10,200
Now add 18% to that which would be $12,036
I think NYS tax is 8.65% so add that on and the total should come out to be $13,077
I think that's how it works or at least thats how i've been doing it. lol.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
I'm a fox hollow bride. I think the more guests you have the better chance the price would be lowered, however i know the smaller room is less pp than the garden terrace room. We have over 175 so we booked the largest room, but i remember them saying the WGP was less pp.Back when we booked in 2005, a Sunday in August 2006 was 85-90 pp (not incl. tax & grat) so i'm assuming for the smaller room you could knock 5-10 off that possibly. Their prices have gone up since, but negotiate as much as you can they will work with you, never take the first number they give you.
Sorry can't help you with CLM.
