Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

Hey what happened to this board? No one writes anymore. I guess everyone booked for '07. I feel like I'm late!!!

Since everyone did such a good job, and I got a lot of ideas from all the postings, I felt obligated to write my reviews.

These are the places I've visited for May-August of '07 for Fridays:

Surf Club (New Rochelle). Gave me a different quote on the phone and different quote when I went there. I've noticed a lot of places are doing that so make sure you mention it. He dropped the price to the original quote $95pp plus $400 for ceremony. Place was nice esp. the veranda. Not too crazy about the hall.

Greentree (new Rochelle)-BM was very nice. Didn't like the grounds, as the RH overlooked the pool and the summer rental rooms to the side. $110pp on a Friday (includes everything though)

Chateau La Mer-The place literally stunk some sort of sewage when we went. It was very bad. They do a good job at deceiving you on their website. I thought the place was too dark, and only one bar for a party of 250+. $85pp

Venetian Yacht Club- I really liked the place. B/c of the size of my wedding if I guaranteed 210ppl he was willing to drop the price to $95pp and I would have the whole place. Downstairs for coctail, upstairs for reception. The place was very very pretty. They have done a great job at renovating it. (My first choice so far)

Am going to look at some other places and hopefully make my decision soon as this process stresses me out.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

Jan-March of 07

Ven, Yacht Club......they lied to my face on prices and tried to deny it w. more lies...i really loved the place but the ppl there made me change my mind....told me 75 for a fri night told mt sister 60 for a fri....same months?!

Chateau Briand...not my style but they were awesome there! 53$ for tonsssss of food!!!

Fox Hollow...56$ loved loved it! but the room was going to be way too small for who i thought we have plus my band never fit...so then when i tried getting the bigger room the prices were going to go up?! i wasnt diggin that idea! But really like the place....was about too book!

Chateau la mer.....75$ they were great...went to tasting but my family is so picky and werent impressed! i was upset bc i loved the idea of the water and they were giving me my choc fountian for free!!

Captin bills...Bayview house- well it was higher than i thought it be....75$ and barely any food compared to other places we looked at! but it was beautiful!!!!!! loved the look!

Crest hollow CC......100$?! nuts for that time of yr!!! and wanted $8 a chair for covers?! yikes...

Watermill is where we booked...must say i felt the best w. them after our 1st meeting....they were open and honest not hiding the books and making up prices (2 places did that)....got quoted 59$ and thew in stuff all over! so far im happy w/ our pick!!!

i know i looked at a few others...hmmm i cant think of it right now!

oh and east wind we went too as well.....75$ tons of food....but after getting Scotts prices and knew there rep....i just couldnt pay 75 or more..and 75 is a great price for a wedding! But still....so i moved on from there!

ahhh another we went too...Swan Club...sorry my own opnion..why a hype for this place? it needs updating and needs it fast! the grounds looked nice in the pic though ill give them that...prices were 75 and up

Riveria- i went to a wedding there i liked it..so i went back and took a look...i wasnt as impressed by it as i was when i went the yr b4! didnt realize how dark it was....but anywhoo...it was 75$ as well

Hi ladies -

I am new to the board but will be an 07 bride as well :)

My FH and I just looked at the Riviera for a Saturday night in July 07 and got quoted $110 pp

Chateau La Mer - $105 pp

Has anyone had any luck finding a Saturday night Summer hall for under $100? or Saturday afternoon for that matter? Like many of you, we are trying to do this wedding as economically as possible because we have a very large family... It needs to be Saturday unfortunately because we have so many people traveling from out of town...

THANKS in advance!

Swan Club on a Saturday might be at or under $100 for a Saturday night but you would have to check. How many people are you having?

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

hi girls. i did a search on the site for coindre hall to see if anyone else was getting married there. anyhow, this thread came up and i just had to pipe in....

we're getting married at
Coindre Hall
later this year for significantly LESS than $130/pp

we're not using lessings.
we're using andrew's fabulous foods (a division of whitsons).
there is another caterer for coindre hall but i never conatcted them so i don't remember their name.

I'm surprised that you feel they LIED to you. I have found the banquet managers to be nothing more than amazing at the Venetian. A close co-worker of mine is also nothing but happy with them. Could it be that you both told them different numbers of guests.....places can vary WIDELY in how much they cost based on how many people you say you are having. I'd be willing to bet there is more to the story. But of course if you personally aren't comfortable with them, I wouldn't tell you to book there.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

I looked at two locations.

Raphael's Vineyard

site fee varies with months 2700-9500
catering 135pp or 110pp

we chose Loft Eleven
site fee 6500
working on catering, we have to bring our own.

I noticed that you are getting married at the Chateau Briand. Do you get a good price for May? I'm going to check them out i the next 2 weeks. I really would love a summer month. But, of course that is high peak. Any info would be appreciated. thanks

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?

Question: I saw Leonard's online and it looked beautiful. How did you like? When you stated $65 dollars w/o dessert were you referring to the wedding cake. Thanks for your response
