I used to have a big group in both schools but we've all moved on and they've never been replaced. Now I'm down to one good friend and it's sad. It's so much easier to make friends in HS/College than keep them later.

I have ONE I can count on, and thats all I need. I wish I had more and there was a very long time in my life when I had no girl friends that I could trust 100%.

I'm the same as many other girls... 1 best friend.. although she lives clear across the country... my mom and my FH. Other girls I know are more like acquaintences... can't count on them 100%. What a shame!

I watched a lot of people who I considered good friends disappear when I got engaged. It wasn't because of fights or disputes or people feeling left out, it is because we are at different places in our lives. I can probably safely say I have four best friends (not including my FH)
My Mom has continually said you grow apart from friends when you get married, but it all changes when you start to have kids. I guess only time will tell.

I have 3 or 4 really close friends, then 2 friends that I work with that I am really close with.

I have 2 -- My husband, and one close girlfriend.

I've been to as many GTG's as I could, but I guess I just never clicked with anyone enough that they wanted to continue a friendship with me. God, I sound like a loser!!!

I guess I'm the opposite here....I have been blessed with the best girlfriends in the world! I can count on 2 hands my closest girlfriends...and they are certainly not empty friendships. More than half of them are my friends from grammar school...we've been friends for over 20 years! We are so amazingly close and I could not imagine my life without them. The other few girls I have made friends with them later in life - early 20's...they are all close and part of the group of us that have been friends since grammar school. Our lives have all changed and some are married with kids, some are engaged like me, some are still swining single and living the party life...but we always make time for each other. We do dinner several times a month - talk daily on group emails. My friends are truly the best. Honestly you have to work to keep a friendship...don't lose a friend b/c your life takes you in different directions. You need girlfriends in life!!!

We all - there were 12 of us - just took our 30th birthday trip - girls only trip - to Punta Cana. We had the best time. Moms came and left their kids home with the dad's...it was a great time!

Don't think I'm mean for saying this but I really feel sorry for those of you who are saying you don't have any close girlfriends!!!
I don't know what I'd do without mine!!!
