Madrino and Padrino....Puerto Rican thing.

Basically its like an MOH and BM....but in my family..they are typically alittle older...and they are usually the people who will be the godparents to your first born....

it's actually called the same thing in sicilian believe it or not. madrina is godmother and padrino is godfather. the same rule of thumb applies in my family - whoever is the maid of honor and best man at your wedding will be the godparents to your first born child...sooooo many traditions, but i love em

OH neato!! did not know that...and FH is full Italian! All my cousins do this...and its nice to incorporate your culture....very personal and unique.

i'm italian not sicilian though, and i've never heard of this.. very cool though.. childrens god parents are gonna be a whole nother issue for us.. i have 2 sisters and 1 soon to be SIL not soon to be BIL & no brothers.. can't wait till we have to pick godparents

We have 13 people and I have asked 3 of my girls, I still have to ask 2 more bridesmaids and my 2 jr. bridesmaids...then I leave the rest up to FH...which means the night before
