I am a modern bride and all but I am quite distrubed by your FH.
Why would you feel the need to pick up your own ring? Granted its a busy season for him at the moment, however PICKING UP THE RING IS NOT YOUR DUTY, ITS HIS! I understand you are excited about the whole situation, but I think you can still wait. If the store closes early, your FH could have very easily called the jeweler and made arrangements for pick. I mean his did pay $$ for it right? They woud do anything to please a customer that just paid top dollars for a ring.
Why did he tell you he couldn't get the ring that day?![]()
Personally, I think you should keep your opinions to yourself! You are rude!

Honestly are don't think there is nothing wrong with her picking the ring, if they both agreed, why not.

I think that everyone is entitled to do whatever they want. There is no such thing as 'his duty' and 'her duty.' It was her choice to pick up her ring. Jessica, don't listen to this person. obviously, she has never heard that if you don't have something nice to say you shouldn't say it at all. I am happy for you and hope you get your ring soon!

so, FH gets home while I was preparing a GREAT dinner, thinking this was it. (chicken parm, homemade sauce, ravioli, cesar salad-with HOMEMADE croutons!)
I left the ring in a box on the table. He picked it up, checked it out-said he liked it then...
PUT IT IN HIS POCKET!!!!!
I never saw it again....I guess I am getting some sort of surprise....but I am torn- I am dying to wear this ring, but I am touched that he is still trying to give an air of mystery about it.
Awwww....

I agree that this person is very, very rude but it doesn't really matter what she thinks because you feel good about why you picked it up. My FI and I booked our hall about 4 months before we got a ring and even though we picked it out together, it was still the most amazing moment of my life. It was so crazy because I knew we were getting engaged but I was still shocked when he proposed. I bet the same thing happens to you! Congrats!

Re: I'm very excited!!!- UPDATE!
I just wanted to say thank you to all of the ladies on this site who were so quick to support me and come to my defense.I really don't allow people's opinions of how I live my life spoil things for me, but your thoughts and wishes meant a lot and certainly saved me from feeling anything but joy about my upcoming wedding (and, of course, my wonderful FH)
Cheers ladies...the 06'ers are pretty great!

Still NOTHING, fyi....he's really working this surprise thing! LOL
