Re: I'm very excited!!!- UPDATE!
Since both 'posters' are very traditional, I thought they might like to know what their traditional role as a wife should be...The Traditional Relationship Model - can be summarized as strictly structured and gender rigid. The role of husband was the 'King of the Castle', an independent decision maker who protected and provided for his family. The wife was the devoted 'Queen'. She was financially dependant upon her husband and subordinate to his decisions. Her mission was to make him happy, care for his children and administer the home.
Womens' Roles - The women were the deferring servant to their husband. Whose 'duties' included execution of the work tasks for a household, bearing and raising children, serving the sexual needs and physical needs of the husband, obeying without question the commands of her husband. She was totally dependent upon her husband economically: prohibited from owning property or being employed. She had no right or place to give her 'opinion' about anything and had no acknowledged input in any decisions, even child bearing. She was expected to 'keep her place'.
According to tradition... they should keep their opinions to themselves!!!!

Re: I'm very excited!!!- UPDATE!
Posted by Bride2006I have obviously hit a nerve of truth with you and therefore you would like for me to refrain from futher commenting on your very weird 'e- ring situation'. Not to worry, you will be free to comment in your 'updates' to other people who entertain such lunacy.
I don't know why you even bothered to give him the ring. If you picked it up, you might as well put it on also!
Many comments maybe said about me, but I waited till the ring was on my finger to make wedding plans.
first i want to say Jessica M when you Fh propose's to you its going to be a day you will alway's remember and its going to be so special because it will come from his heart and its his love for you iswhat counts and the lives you both are going to share and endure. Now for Bride 2006 let me say you are a very negative person and its none of your business how her fh wants to give her the ring you must be jealous or something! i think you owe her a apology because all she did was share her excitement. dont listen to her jessica because she is rude. Goodluck again and please share us some pics when you het the ring!

I totally agree with Bride2006....you shouldn't make plans without a ring....BAD LUCK, LADIES!!!!! I SEE A RUN-AWAY-GROOM!!
Why are you so nasty????? Are you making up for the insecurities you see in yourself or your relationship????? Feeling the need to make someone as miserable as you feel about yourself?
Congratulations Jessica!!!!

I am a modern bride and all but I am quite distrubed by your FH.
Why would you feel the need to pick up your own ring? Granted its a busy season for him at the moment, however PICKING UP THE RING IS NOT YOUR DUTY, ITS HIS! I understand you are excited about the whole situation, but I think you can still wait. If the store closes early, your FH could have very easily called the jeweler and made arrangements for pick. I mean his did pay $$ for it right? They woud do anything to please a customer that just paid top dollars for a ring.
Why did he tell you he couldn't get the ring that day?![]()
Personally, I think you should keep your opinions to yourself! You are rude!
You go girl!!!
Jessica - whatever to this chick. Enjoy your excitement and don't let anyone lower your high. Congrats!!!

Again, thanks so much ladies. you guys are awesome!!! It is so refreshing to see that her nasty attitude is shared only by the overwhelming minority (her and her multiple personalities)I was (and still AM) a little tempted to go Brooklyn on her, but I don't feel like wasting so much breath...
Kudos to you all!

Re: I'm very excited!!!- UPDATE!
Holy CRAP I truly find it incredulous that people have to be so CHICKEN to come on and created fake screennames just to try and make someone feel bad about something THEY DID NOT EVEN ASK ADVICE ABOUTSeems like deja vu all over again

To the fakies - you are the biggest bunch of losers out there.
To Jessica - sorry you had to be the receipient of a bunch of people who have nothing else going on in their lives but to hide behind fake names. And again, my best wishes & congratulations!

I am not here to ruin anyone's happiness. I am more than happy to see others happy too. I am just questioning Jessica M's FH intentions. Regardless of his occupation, the way he gives you the ring is a gesture of his love to you. If you picked up the ring for him, what does that mean?
This posting has been seen by over 800+ people. The replies have been less than 50. I guess those 750+ women must agree with me but have taken the advice of. 'if you have something nice to say, don't say anything at all'![]()
Like a few people have mentioned, it is my opinion whether it is liked or not.
I just wanted to say that I normally stay out of dramatic posts like this, but I wanted to represent one of the over 1700+ people who have now viewed this thread and completely disagree with you. We are not silent because we agree, we are silent because we think you are a fool for saying stuff like this in the first place and choose to ignore you. By the way, the saying is 'If you DON'T have anything nice to say....' but maybe your wording is true for you - do you keep your nice thoughts to yourself?
Congratulations Jessica! Don't let anyone rain on your parade - your ring sounds really beautiful.

Bad luck? Dh and I had the church and hall booked and deposit put down on my wedding gown before that ring ever touched my finger.
7 years and 2 beautiful kids later, I wouldn't say that was bad luck at all!

I think this is from a certain 2005 bride who a couple of months ago was ragging on a FB who's FH didn't have the $ to get her a ring. IF you were on-line to see that post then I think you know who it is.
