I just wanted to say thank you to all of the ladies on this site who were so quick to support me and come to my defense.
I really don't allow people's opinions of how I live my life spoil things for me, but your thoughts and wishes meant a lot and certainly saved me from feeling anything but joy about my upcoming wedding (and, of course, my wonderful FH)
Cheers ladies...the 06'ers are pretty great!![]()

I can't wait to see your ring!!!

You know, it is so upsetting the way people have to ruin others' happiness!!Good for him that he is working so much!! And good for you for helping him out- all of this stuff should be about working together, not duty!! Your only duty is to love each other!!

Re: I'm very excited!!!- UPDATE!
I am not here to ruin anyone's happiness. I am more than happy to see others happy too. I am just questioning Jessica M's FH intentions. Regardless of his occupation, the way he gives you the ring is a gesture of his love to you. If you picked up the ring for him, what does that mean? This posting has been seen by over 800+ people. The replies have been less than 50. I guess those 750+ women must agree with me but have taken the advice of. 'if you have something nice to say, don't say anything at all'
Like a few people have mentioned, it is my opinion whether it is liked or not.

Maybe people were reading the psot and were to applaed to dignify what you said witha response, or people checked the thread multiple times to see if Jessica had updated or posted pics, or to see if you brought your sorry @$$ back to insult her some more.
This is the REAL world we live in. Not some fantasy world. Not every engagement is the same. The reality is that it's tax season, and if you're an accountant you can't just say 'hey I'm taking the day off..see ya', and a whole jewelry exchane isn't going to stay open for one person. I don't think it matters WHO picked up the ring..obviously Jessica's FH wants to marry her, or there would be no discussion. There's this whole glamour to the surprise engagement, but that's not important. What's important is the love and commitment that two people share. The ring, the wedding dress, the 'perfect proposal' it's all just fanfare and it's meaningless if there's no love in your heart. I personally wouldn't want to pick up my e-ring. I'd rather wait for it longer and have FH pick ut up when he could...but that doens't work for everyone. Some women woudn't think of picking out their e-ring, but FH and I went shopping for mine together, and it was such an exciting and romantic experience. FH took me as a surprise and it was so wonderful...and then, like Jessica's FH, the surprise was to come in WHEN and HOW he gave it to me..
Bride 2006, it seems like you're a little jealous...

you know what sweetie, you're starting to get on my damn nerves...please take this as an invitation to NOT post on anything that I have to say, because we obviously have differing views of what constitutes gestures of love. You should not presume to know people or their situations- I can do without your help or advice.
Thank you and good luck and happiness with your wedding.
Sorry ladies if this breaks any of the rules!

I have obviously hit a nerve of truth with you and therefore you would like for me to refrain from futher commenting on your very weird 'e- ring situation'. Not to worry, you will be free to comment in your 'updates' to other people who entertain such lunacy.I don't know why you even bothered to give him the ring. If you picked it up, you might as well put it on also!
Many comments maybe said about me, but I waited till the ring was on my finger to make wedding plans.

Aren't you still waiting for your ring? I thought you're getting it 12/31/05?
If you put THAT much emphasis on the ring, you have a real problem. You can be engaged without a ring.
Now tell us what your real SN is.

what is with you, why do you have to be so negative, definitely not giving a very good impression since you are only a newbie.

maybe you should be more concerned with other things than this thread...
ETA: FYI...the number of people who view doesn't correlate at all with any agreement of what was said
AND to be honest i think it is more people looking back to see what stupid things you will say

WOW you certainly are nervy!!!
YOu may not like that she picked up her own e-ring but as the expression goes if it makes her boat float what do you care. I had previously read this thread and I didn't comment, not because I agree with your rudeness but because this is the 06 board and as a newlywed I tend to respect their board and not comment on it.
You may feel you have a right to speak your opinion and HAD she asked for opinions that might be warranted but she was telling a story not asking what your views are.
I don't think your time on this board will be a happy one unless you learn some manners.

Like a few people have mentioned, it is my opinion whether it is liked or not.
As a married woman, the way a man gives you a ring is not a true gesture of love. A true gesture of love is to be supportive, non judgemental, giving when that isn't so easy, understanding, caring, forgiving and I could go on. Those are TRUE gestures of love... How dare you question his love for her because LOVE has nothing to do with when and how you are proposed to.
