Can someone take pics for me of the specialty lighting and new linens? I obviously can not make it since I am in the middle of the desert I would really appreciate some pics...Anyone?

Also...don't fret about the above mentioned issue. It rarely happens, chances of it happening to you are not good. Russo's has an impeccable and outstanding reputation to keep, not that anything can replace making that day better, but I'm sure the girls that this happened to were refunded or compensated generously...Otherwise we would have heard more about it. Again, its something good to put in your contract...but definitely nothing to worry about

Thanks for reassuring me Nina...u have no idea how worried I've been since I read the post. I know the chances of it happening again are slim but I'm getting married the first week of july so it will be hot, people will be using air-conditioners and an outage is possible, but i'd like to think that a hall like russo's would have back-up generators should something like that happen. since i'm going to the expo tonite i'm going to try and see the BM and bring it up to see her response. about the pictures i'm leaving from the show straight from work and i don't have a camera on me, so i'll try taking some with my camera phone...the picture quality isn't the greatest but i'll try my best

Nina, I couldn't agree with you more... power outages can happen anywhere, as it did where my brother got married one week prior to his wedding. Russo's has an amazing reputation for a reason, and I wouldn't worry about it one bit.

By the way, don't worry, I will take pictures and send to you!!!

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Pictures are one of my main concerns. Since we have a lot of time between church and reception, we're going to Central Park. If it rains, we'll be taking most of our pictures at Russo's.

We're having a tough time with this too. A few people mentioned a park by Russo's to us...Charles Park? or something like that. We might stop at Flushing Meadows. We're still undecided b/c most places take us out of our way.

Thank you ladies for taking my post into consideration and not attacking me, I never meant to offend or upset anyone, I just felt that this was something that I would want to know about as a bride if I was getting married there. I am sure that this occurance is very rare and the chances of it happening again are not great, but nonetheless, it cant hurt to have something in your contract in case. I wish all you ladies the best of luck with your weddings, I am looking foward to seeing pics!

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

Hi ladies,
I'm glad to see that this thread is up and running. I couldn't make the expo tonight but I would love any info. from anyone who attended.

Question: Are any of you using a DOC or does Kelly somewhat fit that role?

Pupidda: please let me know what the BM says about the power outage. I'm freaking out as well.

Hi, the 'beach' at Charles PArk is not really a 'beach' like you are probaly thinking. But it still can be a nice place to take pictures.

I took my pics at a park off of the belt parkway in Valley Stream and the background was gorgeous. Depending on where you church is, it may be convenient to stop there since it's right off the belt.

Re: <3 Official Russo's on the Bay Thread <3

First, I am so sorry, I forgot my camera at home.

BUT, I am sure that if you call, you can get someone to email you pictures. I saw a lot of people (incl those who work there) taking pics of the linens.

The showcase was really nice. The new linens are beautiful. There are two more choices now in addition to the white on white chair covers. There are 2 different colors that (in my opinion) would each match the Tivoli and the Renaissance room. They don't replace the chair covers, but accent them by being draped around the top of the chair (looks very elegant). Then there are matching overlays for the tables. One color is like a creamy gold and the other is a very light brown, almost taupe. I don't know what they are officially considered.

The specialty lighting was nice, and the cakes were beautiful, but I am most excited about the linens b/c it adds so much to the room.

HTH! =)
