I was soo upset. Couldn't sleep - I didn't even eat yesterday. But then again it truly could be an error - that somehow the other people's contract didn't get in the computer and then somehow it did and they realized they double booked???? Is that a possibility?

That's just crazy, I only pray that doesn't happen to me. That so unfair, but I do think your right on one thing. They probaly got a bigger offer, and just put you on the back burner. Sorry

I would take my wedding somewhere else!!!

I would also read my contract over and see if I have case, threaten them they have no right to do that.

I spoke to a lawyer and I don't really have any damages - other than being upset. I didn't book my other vendors yet - so I didn't lose any money.

I can't believe that!! I'm so sorry... I would ask for my money back, and go somewhere else. There will always be tension around you and CH if u stay there. Don't do that to yourself. Go somewhere you will be happy with your FH, family and friends..... Good Luck

Sorry about the problems with CH - I looked there as well and really liked it.

We fell in love with the FT and have had a great experience so far. I am sure that they will do everything in their power to get you a good date at least around where you were thinking.

Yes - I'm going to call FT now - b/c I looked at them and loved it. It was a hard decision to make and I thought I made the right one picking CHCC but obviously not. I think I'll be really happy at FT - ESPECIALLY after reading everyones reviews. EVERYONE loves FT and CHCC got mixed reviews. My only question about FT is taking pictures. What are you doing about that?? They don't have any outdoors and the garden room is a little odd.

And, I believe that you are telling the truth.

I live in NJ and had a signed estimate, with date from a hall in NJ. I trusted that hall and booked my church, only to go back to the hall and have them tell me that they made a mistake on the price...by $40 PER PERSON...

I posted about it on theknot and I thought those girls were going to set my house on fire by the way they reacted to me

Actually, it happened to Sasha (SomethingBlu) prior to booking Jericho Terrace.

If I recall correctly, Sasha's prior hall wanted to sue for the amount due but luckily they had double booked the room on her date. On top of that they never notified her about the double booking.

I'm pretty sure it was NOT at CHCC but I only mention it because this is not the first time a hall has double booked and it probably won't be the last.

That's sooo horrible!! My FH and I almost booked CH but heard a few things that weren't so great about it. I have a co-worker who had a wonderful wedding there but one of my BM went to a wedding there and the service wasn't so hot....I don't want to upset other brides but keep on top of them there! (tho that's prob good advice for all of us!) I hear nothing but good things about FT and I almost wanted to get married there bc my parents used to go on dates there when it was a movie theater and my FH proposed to me in front of it! (long story). There are a few nice parks/areas in the Village of Floral Park that you might be able to take pictures in. I have a friend who lives on Raff ave (on the Elmont border) and we took pics at this park thing/bird sanctuary. It's on the street- not something you go into but it looked good in pics.

Yeah as I'm reading posting I'm not reading anything great about Crest Hollow but wonderful things about Floral Terrace.

i had my reception there a few weeks ago, but you should not have been treated that way---i guess mistakes do happen. if you still want to get married there, i would demand some kind of upgrade/perk/ etc.
