Re: November 27th 04 Brides

Wouldn't that be nice?

What are you ladies getting your parents if anything?

We want to get our parents , mine and his are both divorced, something small, sentimental like, and not a lot of money.

but we need help

Re: November 27th 04 Brides

Hey sign me up for someone else paying my vendors

My parents are divorced, his arent. My parents helped us out financially with the wedding (they were able to cover our hall), his parents...not so much. Im not even sure they know that we are engaged

But, we bought his parents a 8x10 frame from Things Remembered on sale for about $20 and had it engraved. I bought my Dad a music box from Bombay & Co. that plays our father/daughter dance 'What a Wonderful World' and also bougth him a hankie. I also paid for his tux I bought my Mom her dress and all her jewelry. I paid for more for my parents because they helped us out so much. We bought our readers each one of those photo albums that have the pewter colored cover and stand up on their own. They were $9.99 each at Linens n Things. Our groomsmen are getting knives with their names engraved on them (Things Remembered) and my girls are getting: a small wooden jewelry bos that I engraved their names on and stained with a light colored stain (they were unfinished when I bougth them) necklace and earrings, flip flops that I glued tiny rhinestones on (for the reception incase their feet start to hurt), I made the same ones for me

Sorry for the LONG post!!!

Re: November 27th 04 Brides

Wow..you have your gifts under control!!LOL

I am getting my girls earrings.

For the parents, my dad, my mom and FH mom are all helping us a lot. Fh dad is not at all.

But we really don't have the extra $$ to get them something expensive.

I was thinking of gettng the moms hankerchiefs. and My dad and I guess my step-mom a picture frame.

We are also getting parent albums for all 4 sets of them and DVDs.

I'm soo stumped.

I think what you're doing is more than enough. Our parents are helping us out because they are able to and they know we dont have the $$. So they really dont expect to be given a really expensive gift. As long as there is a sentiment to the gift and you were thinking of them I think that's all that matters.

Oh yeah, I forgot all about the parent albums and DVDs!! I've been saving for over a year for the wedding so I was able to put some extra $$ aside for gifts. But we are on a strict budget otherwise.

Re: November 27th 04 Brides

Honestly we haven't been saving that long... But i feel that even though the photo album and dvd is a gift, they won't get it until after the wedding.

It's def. a gift! It's an expensive gift too! The parent album alone is a lot of money and I don't know what you guys are paying but I think our DVDs are $75 each!! It's crazy. I'm hoping that I can burn DVDs off my copy and give them to people because I can't spend $75 on a DVD.

Re: November 27th 04 Brides

Actually I think he's throwing them in, but we are paying a lot for our package, I think we got the highest one there is , so thats why he threw them in.
