I can't wait to join the mailbox stalking girls!!!!!!!!!

I stamped and sealed all my invitations last night and they're sitting here in a box all ready to go!!!! I'm waiting until Sept 2, that way it's exactly 2 months before our date, and it's sentimental as it's FH's parents' anniversary too.

But I'm impatientt!!!

Queens girls..... I found out that the Middle Village post office will hand cancel my invitations for me and they were very nice about it!! The postal worker said to come in during the afternoon and they'll hand cancel in between their regular work.

When I had asked at the Maspeth post office, which I'm in all the time, they looked like they couldn't be bothered. Then again, MV is usually less busy, so...... on Sept 2, I'll join all you girls with mailbox stalking for RSVPs!!!


THINGS DONE IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS:
-- STILL waiting on Rabbi to finalize Ketubah personalization!!!!
-- ordered yarmulkes with our names & date
-- picked up veil at Barrons -- I LOVE it!!
-- part of MOH/BM gifts
-- layout of escort cards (will type in table #s & print in Oct)

THINGS TO DO NOW:
-- pick up dress tomorrow from alterations (I know, it's early!!)
-- I'm going w/ FH to pick & order tuxes this wkend
-- choose menu w/ FH (we have to look over the papers this wkend)
-- finalize menu & linens at Fox Hollow on Thurs Aug 21

-- e-pics tentatively scheduled for Sept 7th???

Finishing up the invites tonight and they are going out next week. (I know its a bit early, but guests are asking for them)

i am think about ordering a carved pumpkin for our candy bar?? with our initals and some fall leaves on it- i found a place out in CA to have it done-- i tried to make one today and killed the poor pumpkin i am waiting for a call back to see what the lead time is on him doing it???? dont want to pay for it and not get it until after the wedding lol-- my luck

Can someone also please explain to me what this canceling invites thing is???? I am going to the post office tomorrow to weigh the invite. Then what do I do??? I want to send the invites out the first or second week of September because I have an October 11 rsvp date. IS that good? I feel like I have a million and ten things to do. I cant sleep or focus. Im going crazy!!! Please helllpppp

Hand cancelling is usually done when the invites are ready to be mailed...the cancellation stamp is done by hand rather than by machine. It is definitely NOT required, so don't stress yourself out too much if you can't find a post office that does that for you.

Your timetable for sending invites sounds good.

I got the call today!! my dress is in!!! so excited!

also, my tasting is scheduled for sept 20th..

i assembled my invites..waiting for a few more addresses and then i am going to send them out sept 15, our 1 year engagement anniversary! I know, I am a huge dork!!

AND, my best friend just got engaged...i am so happy!!!!

i just printed my addresses on my own computer..it came out awesome! really easy!
