I have mine b/c I ordered them very early, knowing I wouldn't have enough time to do much when school begins again. But I think you still have time!

When were you planning on sending out your invitations? You can count back a month from that date as your RSVP, and then count 2-4 weeks from that as the mailing date. Then you'll be able to figure out when to do calligraphy. I got this advice from someone on here, just can't remember who!

If you're doing your own (either computer or by hand), you can do what I'm doing.... printing a few envelopes at a time at night while watching TV, that way it's not overwhelming. If you're sending them out to be done, you may want to research calligraphers now so you know who and what you want when the time comes!

Don't mind me, I sometimes plan way too far in advance!

Wedding is November 2nd

RSVP date is October 1st

I wanted 2 weeks leeway for calling those missing RSVPs. I think we have to give our final headcount 2 weeks before (have to double check that date at our menu meeting on Aug 14).

no they will be set and ordered in about a week.... bc we are gettign the ## of invites ready ...
they will be sent out i blieve in sept for a RSVP for first week in oct.

I'm so sorry to hear the problems some of you are having with invitations! That must be frustrating!!

For those who said they need to order invitations, a friendly recommendation: I had a good experience with Exclusively Weddings and ordered everything through their website. I had a pdf file proof emailed to me (for extra $ of course), and they made my changes within one day. The invitations were delivered very quickly too. They were easy to deal with and had great customer service when I called to speak w/ someone after placing my order online.

We made some changes to the guest list since we've sent it to the invite company to print. Oh well some people might just be getting clear labels! lol

Same on my end. In the past week a few things have changed and I think we freed up a table!! LOL.. But clear lables or my lovely handwritting!

in homes around 9/26 (so im planning to mail mine a few days before 9/26)

I am mailing mine out early. Probably the first week of September. My RSVP date is October 17th (6 weeks before the wedding). I know a lot of the guests usually go away for the holiday so I wanted to make sure they had time to plan.

Ladies, I'm SOOO happy to check off one more thing on my list:

FMIL found a gorgeous dress today and it didn't break the bank!

It was touch and go for a while...we had gone to a bridal boutique in the Bronx from which she had bought 2 MOG dresses in the past, but couldn't find anything we liked, plus everything was $250+. So I brought her into Queens to visit a boutique in Astoria from which my mom has bought fancy dresses in the past...only to find that it recently closed down! A boutique across the street from that store had a couple of dresses for her, but they were kinda blah on her.

So, our next stop was the Queens Center Mall, and first we went to JCPenney. We found 2 dresses, and the first one she tried on was stunning on her...it's as if it was tailored just for her. No hemming needed, no taking in needed, nothing. Not too dark blue, nor too light blue. Plus, it was on sale, so it was totally within her budget!! Couldn't be happier!!

The only thing about the dress is that it has short sleeves, and she really wanted 3/4 sleeves or a jacket, so now I need to find a pretty silver shawl for her...any suggestions about where to find that?

I have had a very productive couple of days!

First, FMIL bought a dress from JCPenney, the next day my mother bought a dress from Macys, and on Saturday FH picked out tuxedos!

Also, FMIL REALLY wanted a jacket to wear with her dress, so I ordered a chiffon bolero jacket from David's Bridal...should be in by late September.

And the coming week will be very productive, too. My dress is SUPPOSED to come in some time this week , and the re-ordered invitations should also arrive this weekend (hopefully with the correct text this time!) .

Also, this coming Saturday I'll have a double whammy. First a lunch with my koumbares (sponsors) to pick out the crowns, etc for the Greek Orthodox ceremony. Then, in the early evening, I will be meeting with my RH to finalize the details!

I can't believe how quickly time is passing!!!!!!!!

so glad to see we are all getting this stuff done-- the past week I went to bakery and got my cake taken care of-

I was a bad girl and changed my mind about a card box and ordered on from modernbride on ebay.(cant wait to see it)

Melissa !!!! cant wait to see them- will post as soon as I can,

Tuesday I pick up my envelopes from the printer and then I can start putting them together. Hope to have them in the mail by the 2nd of sept our rsvp date is Nov 1 gives me 2 weeks to get full count from those who dont send rsvp back
