I had Summer Wind they played a great selection of music. My only recommendation on them is to have a face to face meeting and go over the details with them.

Just wanted to mention Quirks Irish Gifts now in w. babylon has the ability to let your register for items there. I went in today to buy some bangers and orange soda for my mom and i asked about registering there.

My review is FINALLY UP! it's long.... DH thought I was out of my mind for writing such a long review---but I couldn't help it!!!

I had lots of irish touches throughout my wedding so feel free to read the review or FM with any questions.

I am so glad I found this thead and wanted to bring it back to life, as it has so many good ideas!!! I am having an irsh theme wedding. Fh and I are 2nd and 3rd generation Irish. I would say we are using the celtic knot as part of out theme. Anyone else out there?

Overall, I wanted to have Irish touches at my wedding, but at the same time I did not want it to be over the top. All the green, the claddaghs, the shamrocks, etc. i did NOT want. They are a bit too stereotypical in my opinion and also a bit 'loud' design wise... I tried to go for the simple elegance.

Some of the Irish touches I had at my wedding that I may or may not be in the review were this:

1) Mom gave me an Irish pence to wear in ym shoe.... i ended up not putting it in because I thought it would be uncomfortable, but the photographer got a shot of it and the card it came on.

2) My flower girl presented me with a horseshoe made out of Belleek china after I came back up the aisle... I was completely surprised... my cousin sent it from Ireland for me. It is supposed to be good luck to receive a horsehoe from a child on your wedding day.

3) Program: Trinity knot on cover

4) Invites: Celtic knot design on border

5) Unity Candle: candle had a celtic cross on it, Galway and Waterford crystal were the candle holders

6) Waterford toasting flutes

7) Irish pub/restaurant for rehearsal dinner

8) Irish band at reception

9) Bagpiper in and out of church and at reception(that is more an Irish-American tradition than an Irish tradition... you wouldn't see that at a wedding in Ireland)

11) Irish dancing at reception

12) Irish aires played on the flute as part of the prelude as people walked into Church

13) Presenting the flowers to the Blessed Mary at Church

14) The Child of Prague (Jesus) statue put in the front window of the house the night before... My mom did that. They say that the Child of Prague is supposed to bring good weather... .and he did! Well, as good as it can be for Febraury!

15) Shepherd's Pie as a hot dish at the cocktail hour... it was almost as good as Mom's! ;)

I think that's about it!!!!

I'm a little Irish girl. My family is from the US but we're very connected to our Irish roots and traditions.
I'm marrying into a very Italian family so the wedding is going to be.... interesting to say the least.

I'm Irish, but we are not doing an Irish themed wedding. We got a unity candle with the Irish Blessing on it from celticcandle.com.

Wow I didnt know this thread existed! Let me introduce myself...

I am 75% irish and FH is half. My great great grandparents are from Ireland and FH grandfather was born there. My family has basically stayed very much in touch with our irish roots and I plan to tie in some irish traditions into our wedding.

My uncle plays the pipes so he will be playing at the church and we will most likely have an irish blessing during the mass. We will also have Guinness at the reception and special ordred corned beef and cabbage for the CH.

We also found a bunch of stuff at Kathleen's of Donegal in RVC that we are going to buy for the wedding.

The thing I am most looking forward to is getting FH's Irish last name since mine is technically Welsh and does not sound Irish at all.

I'm indian and marrying and Irish man (born and bred in Ireland). We're doing just an indian wedding and reception, as he did not want to do to 2 weddings.

I do want to incorporate some Irish things in my wedding, such as the wedding favor or some food. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what I can do? About 80% of the people attending will be Indian.

Irish Bride here...woo woo.

I will have the Claddah Unity Candle's along with the Waterford Unity Set.

I am hiring a group of young Irish girls to play at my ceremony and cocktail hour.
I will be Irish Step Dancing along with my friends.

I also have Waterford Toasting Flutes, but I think I'm going to use the Galway Crystal ones.

That's about it. I'm not into turning my wedding into another St. Paddy's Day with shamrocks everywhere.
