Are your FH large also. Mine is not at all. I feel like a monster with him sometimes.

Yup he's 5'10' and 270lbs. We were both 30 lbs thinner when we started dating, both working out and eating better. Why is it when your in love and comfortable you gain weight?

LOL Same here. Richard (FH) says he loves my butt. I said is it the dimples and cellulite or the fact that it's freakin huge. My worst spot is all my chins and my very large spare tie. More like a full size that could fit a semi .lol

Well today I think was the straw that broke the camels back!!! I went dress shopping for a wedding this weekend (My thought process was wait till I could lose all the weight I could b4 the wedding, what actually happened was, wait until I could gain all the weight I possibly can!!!) Anyway, nothing looked good and I felt really fat!!!! So tommorow if I don't go to spin at 6am, I'm gonna lose it!!!

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Why is it when your in love and comfortable you gain weight?

It's all that damn happiness! Dammit! I used to be very big, then I lost 125 lbs starting five years ago. I'm still not small, but I'm pretty happy where I am, a size 14 (I'm just under six feet tall.)

I want to lose a few pounds though so my wedding dress fits better. Since I lost all the weight, my weight has gone up and down the same 15 pounds. When I bought my wedding gown, I was up the 15 pounds. Now I've lost 5-7 pounds and want to lose 5 more before my gown comes in, just to show the salesladies who didn't want me to buy the size 16 and even made me sign a paper saying that I ordered the smaller size against their recommendations. I knew I could lose the weight, though. It's not that I cared about the number that much, it's just that the size 18 Casablanca is a plus size, and is $100 more. Also the 18 was quite a bit too big and would need alteration. I'm hoping to go in and be able to fit into the 16 with no alterations, or minimal, anyway.

Anyway, I'm not 'dieting,' I'm just trying to cut back and exercise a lot. I'm a runner, so that's not a big deal, the only issue is I'm having some health problems that make regular exercise a bit difficult. However, my upset stomach makes losing weight easier...

So sorry you have health problems. I try to run too, but it doesn't always work out. I like to run outside not on a treadmill, or in a circle!!! But I do what I can. Any suffolk girls wanna start running on the weekends?!?!?!?!

I am 5' 1' and I have tons of curves. FH is about 5'10' and is a big guy. We both want to lose some weight before the wedding. We are both cutting back and have started excercising together. Whenever I get down about my weight FH is always by my side with words of encouragement and telling me that he loves me & all of my curves.

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

My FH is the same way with the encouragement. Truth is we can both be very lazy!!! I'll be honest. I have no prblem working for hours in the yard, but I do have trouble running etc. We have a full size gym in our home. Elliptical, treadmill, bowflex, leg press and like 7 other pieces of equiptment. I keep buying stuff thinking ok I'll def use this and they just collect dust. I am hopeless

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Hi everyone! I'm Susan and I have been trying to lose the weight that has slowly came on after high school. I was living in denial as I kept having to buy bigger and bigger clothes. After meeting FH, it crept up even more...for him too. We both felt comfortable and went out to eat a lot.

I guess the real wake up call was back in November when I started dress shopping and went for a physical. My doctor informed me that I was considered obese for my height and for the first time in my life my cholesterol and blood pressure were too high. That on top of seeing how I looked in wedding dresses finally motivated me to do something. I started walking, using work out videos, eating better, joined WW, and now have dropped 20 pounds. FH has no motivation and he is down 5 pounds since I try and cook more. It's so hard sometimes but I look at how much better I feel now and keep looking at the picture of my dress to keep me motivated.

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Ok girls, I went to my final fitting tonight and i have that arm fat when you put your arms down that kind of creeps over the side of the dress...not too bad but I am def not feeling too good about it. The seamstress suggested that I use the double sided tape....do you all have any suggestions??!

I'm going to try to find it. Melissa posted athread about it and something the seamstress did to the dress to make it hide it and stay up. I will look for it.

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Hi, My name is Colleen....and as i'm sure you can tell from my avatar...i'm a plus size bride.....my problem, similar to other girls here....is that i'm actually happy (for the most part)....would I like to be thinner....ofcourse....but I love my life right now!!!

i've been doing WW off and on but can't seem to get motivated....any girls near the Smithtown area want to Join with me??? I usually go 3-4 weeks and end up quitting because I don't have a buddy. If I have someone to meet there...I know my *** will make it!! I usually try to go on Saturday mornings (I know...crazy...but it gets me up and showered and ready for the day)....

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Hi, I'm a 'big girl' too and I hate it. I am so jealous that you girls are happy with the way you look...I just cant stand it. I do the same thing, I join WW for 5-6 weeks, loose a few pounds and gain it back in two months plus some. I just need to get my a$$ in gear!!! I know how to eat well, I work for a damn vitamin company so I know whats good for you...I just dont do it. I'm in massapequa and donate to Synergy every month...if any of you ladies are in the area, I would love to have a gym buddy or a WW buddy.

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Hey ladies, I am Gabrielle and I am not a small girl, lets leave it at that. I like to run and do WW. I am down 30lbs and would like to lose another 15-20 before the wedding. If any brides are looking for a running partner (I run slow but far) or a ww partner in the Baldwin area, I would love a buddy.
