Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

I wish I lived in those areas...I would love to be a buddy. I am not too happy with my weight myself. I live in Flushing, Queens.

Who is Melissa? I am probably going to need to know the same thing about the arm fat. Any fat really.

Speaking of which~has anyone tried Spanx?

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

I finally found the post from Melissa. Sorry it took so long.

From MJDoc12

MUST READ FOR ANYONE WITH A STRAPLESS GOWN! **Now edited with pics**

I just added this to my review, but I felt it was SO important, I wanted to post this little tip! This is very helpful especially to those of us who are a little more than average or plus sized. I'm just gonna C&P what I put in my review:

'....one of the BEST things that Phyllis did on my gown that I feel like I MUST share. If you are having a strapless gown, ladies you HAVE to ask your seamstress to do this. I was very adamant to her about not wanting to look like a 'stuffed sausage' and have back fat hanging out of my dress. Too often I see girls in gorgeous gowns, and because it's strapless, the seamstress makes the gown SUPER TIIIIGHT, because by the end of the day, the fabric will loosen and your gown can come down. So many tailors will make the gown so tight, cause they know that it will continue to loosen as the day goes on. This causes two things: 1)Suffocation! and 2)Stuffed sausage (aka back fat, chicken wings, etc)

Well this did not happen to be ONCE all day long, and I was dancing up a storm the entire day. This is why:

Phyllis put 4 boning 'tabs' in my dress, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. They were hidden INSIDE the dress and when I put the dress on, I took the thing tab and stuck it inside my long line bra. (One on each boob!) Then we did the same thing in the back, placed it inside the bra, in the back. This kind of made a little hook, from the dress into the bra. If the dress slid down at all, the 'hook' kept it in place and there was NO slippage at all. It was the simplest thing, yet it made the hugest different. I did NOT have to worry about the dress sliding at all, AND she didn't have to make it ridicliously tight either!'

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

OMG Happy Birthday !!! I am 27 , FH is 34 , but FH and I act like we are 70. We are the biggest homebodies. We like to work in the yard, and we sit around weeknights and weekends and watch movies. I don't remember the last time we went out other than me going to the grocery store. But I love it.

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Thanks!

Well, I am a pretty sedentary person, but H2B likes to always be active. SO, we try to mix it up, but he usually falls asleep if we watch a movie at home. And I usually complain if we walk more than ten blocks lol.

We have been together now for ten years almost. We have lost weight together and gained togther. Right now he looks great and I am a rolly polly. Yet, he eats at 12 midnight, and sometimes I can't stop myself from picking at it. Like nachos tonight mmmmmmm. Very bad , but so yummy!!!

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Hmmm wish I could say had fun, but my cat was very sick so we spent the afternoon until about 4:00 there(after the closed even). He has diabetes and they want to do other tests~ we are thinking about it.

Then, Aunt calls me and tells me I need to take my dog to be euthanized. So, I went to go look in on her.

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

I am trying to hang on, but really this will be my first time having to decide this and actually bring her there and not have any intention of bringing her home. Plus, she was my mom's dog really, and she passed two years ago.

I don't want to see her in pain though. Or suffering. I am a bit upset at my aunt for telling me so matter of factly on my birthday.

It was a hard blow.

Re: The Official Big girls thread!!!

Awww thanks. I guess it is just part of growing up.

I just hate that I am not sure she will understand. And saying goodbye.

It really does suck...life after 25 isn't what I thought it would be.
