HI am a big girl but by sis is a bigger girl. She is not my MOH or BM but is still a MAJOR part of the wedding. She's about 300 to 320 lbs. I was wondering if anyone know where she can get a dress that doesn't make her look old. Many plus size formal wear looks really dowdy. She is only 23!

check out www.venusbridal.com. They can make most of those dresses any size. If you like them just find a store locator to find a retailer near you

Ooh I wanna join! My name is Kristin and I am a plus-sized bride and I haaate it! Definitely jealous of all you girls who love what you've got, but I am seriously insecure about my body. I guess the fact that I live in Europe where most people are skinny and its incredibly hard to find nice and trendy plus-sized clothes doesn't help.

I lost about 50 lbs over the past few years and gained back like 10 over Christmas and I still haven't lost it...not sure what my problem is...just haven't been able to get back on track I guess. But I am DETERMINED to lose atleast 25lbs before the wedding! I like sports so once the weather gets nice again FH and I will start playing tennis and soccer like we do every summer and the weight will come off.

And My FH is skinny...makes me feel even more like a blob when he complains about his little beer belly grrr.

I am going to be a plus sized bride. I never thought I was going to be... I was small when I met FH - but various things have led me to get bigger and bigger and bigger. The doctor said I would lose weight really quickly after I stopped the last cycle of meds in February... but I haven't even lost 5lbs yet!

Oh well. I am still marrying a great guy and I can't wait!

You can try David's Bridal, they have some really nice stuff there and most of their dresses go up to a size 24. I also found a website called Plus Size Bridal.com. If I find anything else I will let you know.

Looooooooooove this thread!!! My name is Diana and I am a plus size bride! I really wanted to drop some weight before the wedding, but with 2 months left I haven't lost a pound! My dress should be coming in very shortly....let's hope it fits!!!!!!

Even though FH says he loves me for who I am, I am not comfortable at this size, so I am seeing a nutritionist, and the plan is very similar to WW. I also have PCOS and it makes it a little more difficult for the weight to come off.

What ***** is FH is amazing. But when he says I perfect it gets on my nerves because I'm like yeah right are you blind. Then he gets upset when I make fun of myself. I know he loves me just how I am, but I HATE looking at myself. I refuse to get dressed anywhere near a mirror. No sex with the lights on either.LOL

I know, its very uncomfortable!

MY FH does the same thing! He HATES when I make fun of myself! I guess its a coping method! But I want to have my 'old' body back!!

We do have sex w/ the lights on occasionally, but the majority of the time its candlelight!! LOL

I never wanted to be skinny or feel the need to be beautiful. I just want to be comfortable to go outside in short and a fitted shirt. I am so tires of wearing big clothes so my stomach doesn't look as big. I told FH I would love to be comfortable enough with myself to walk around our home in panties and a tank top. Anything like that seems soooooo far away
