Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

Hi Deb - welcome to our world of scrapbooking!! How long have you been scrapping? Can you share some of your favorite layouts?

Lisa - hang in there! There first day back is always rough.

I am so excited - I got my Poppies album today. It was shipped Media Mail but it came so quickly!! It's so beautiful!! I can't wait to do some great layouts to put in it. There is a beautiful line of papers and stickers that match the album but I don't know about getting all that and having a totally themed album. How do I get pictures that would look good with poppies & dragonfly 3-d stickers and papers?

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

Hi Girls

I bought those little wood things from Michaels (they're like 25 cents each and look like actual things.) I bought the bride, groom bouquet, rings etc... Does anyone know what I am talking about? More importantly does anyone know if I can put them on my pages. They are already colored in.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure I have seen you are talking about but I'm sorry to tell you that wood is loaded with Lignin - the stuff that turns newspapers yellow.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

Hi Merrie!! How are ya??

Yes christine...it is rough coming back!!

Heather...I love those little things you got!! they are the best. You can put them on your pages but I do not think they are acid free. Wood contains ligien (sp?) and that is what ruins the photos and stuff. It will take a REALLY long time for your album to fade, so I wouldnt worry about it too much.

Look on About.com to see if they say anything on this.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

About.com is a GREAT website. You can go there and type in something that you are interested in learning about and its like a search engine...except that each catagory had a person that maintains the information. You can email them with questions. They are constantly updating the info!!

Check it out!!

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! I've been working(mostly playing) at home today & I did more pages. I have so many pics from my son growing up, I'm trying to as many of them as I can. I have 1 album that is just for his milestones.
I also have a few of my parents wedding pages too-I'm not done with them, they need more but I'm drawing a blank. I have their actual wedding invite-my grandma saved it, isn't that cool?

more pages

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

I missed the part about the wooden things-I used them on my shower page-but not near the pictures. I'm not that great about the archival quailty part of scrapping. I'm trying to learn more, but I figure most of my pages will last way longer than my photos that were stuffed in storage boxes for the last 15 years would have.
If I find an embellishment that I love, I use it but not near the photos.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

I have sort of the same philosophy but I know a lot of people are genuinely concerned about the archival aspect of scrapbooking.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD!!!!!!!!

Thanks-I have sort of an addictive personality-I go through spurts of things I like to do. Now I can't stop scrappin.
I bought tons of stuff at the end of the winter & never really used any of it, so I'm using it up so I can buy more.

On Sunday Rich & I went to Michaels because I ran out of hermafix & I ended up spending $85! He always does this shocked face at the register no matter where we are & the cashier(an older woman)thought he was serious & was trying to stick up for me saying'oh this is nothing some women spend $200 at a time' so Rich says'I'm only joking, she can spend whatever she wants, it's not like she's buying crack' The lady was shocked.
