Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD
oh, no it's strips of paper that are tightly wound and then pinched or bent to make shapes. You can do it with your fingers or get a tool that resemples a sewing needle that you can use to wind up the paper. It's actually pretty easy to do.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD
It is INSANE!! But I love it!
Do yourself a favor and do NOT look at the latest Creating Keepsakes magazine. IMO it is way over the top with what you can but into a scrapbook!!
One of the things i am so looking forward to in Scottsdale is the hope that there's a big scrapbooking store I can get lost in for a while. All the ones around here are pretty small. But in the mags you see pictures and articles about 20,000 sq ft stores
I will be in heaven

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD
another question...I've been seeing some layouts with 'ripped' paper...
I like the rustic look...but is there a certain way to do this? or do you just rip it?

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD
Thanks Erica
You mostly just tear the paper. You can also put chalk on the edges to give it an aged or 'heritage' look.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD
But if the paper is patterned or colored on one side and has 'white' on the inside or back, make sure to tear away from you, not towards you so you don't have a white edge show up!

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD
Good point! But it also depends on the look you are going for. I sometimes like the white.

Re: THE OFFICIAL SCRAPBOOKERS THREAD
Ok, I need some more opinions on cards for swaps:I like how the first two came out (both are blank inside):
(the reflection is sequins I used as ornaments).
This one is missing something. I was thinking of some kind of border, maybe ribbon or something? I can't trim the green matt - it's covering up some marks my printer made on the card.
The inside says 'Hope you have a happy holiday' in the same candy cane type as the HO HO HO.
Thank you!
